Through crosshairs.
we were still in Quebec when the Hells Angels were cleaning up. bodies were being found in trunks, a reporter was shot for doing a big article on them...it was lovely. the people finally stopped thinking it was cool when a bomb went off and killed little boy walking by a building. :(
No kidding? Wow, never heard about that. Pretty scary.

The situation with biker gang killings was getting so bad in that area that every other day they'd haul up a body from the St. Lawrence. There was a joke going around - "They just made changes to the fishing laws - A limit of one Hell's Angel per rod per day!"

Another example of scum killing scum for a net gain to society.

It hit its peak in the late 80's and early 90's, but they've been relatively quiet ever since. In Quebec, the Hells and the Rock Machine have been at each other's throats for the last few decades.

Neither of them like the Russian mob, the Vietnamese gangs and the Tongs and Triads muscling in on their turf.

If I remember, there was a Canadian book writer who did a huge expose on outlaw bikers several years ago. At that time, it sounded like most of it gone back underground since there was a lot of bad publicity about the number and brutality of the executions (which included things like battery acid torture). Nasty stuff, and it does sound like open warfare has broken out. Sloppy though, because in the past, the bodies were dropped someplace for rapid decompostion (ie St. Lawrence). I hope none of the eight dead guys were wrong place/wrong timers...
