They should be eyeing the Big House.

Which of the following Conservative Priorities has this Congress and President implemented?

Arguably "Yes"
1) National Security
2) Temporary Tax Cuts
3) Judicial Restraint
4) Acceptance of Religion in the Public Square

Arguably "No"
1) Permanent Tax Cuts
2) Spending Cuts
3) Border Security
4) Free Trade
5) Educational Freedom
6) Tort Reform
7) Free Market Healthcare
8) Reducing the Bureaucratic State
9) Supporting the First Amendment
10) Social Security (and other Entitlement) reform

The Democrats may be a disaster, but this REALLY POOR RECORD of accomplishment and occassional outright malfeasance (a la McCain / Feingold) makes me want to puke.

I may yet support the R's out of fear of Democrats, but it will be with bile rising in my throat.

Yup, the Republicans better wake up and do something about the border hemmoraging or I, for one, will change my party to Constitution and may stay home on election day.

I'm as irate as anyone here at Bush and the Senate RINOs.

But the vast majority of the GOP House members are the good guys in this battle. This is not the time to punish them when they stood tall against the Senate compromises. Instead, we need to pressure the Senate RINOs and the Bush Admin to quit sandbagging the House members and stand together on arresting illegal immigration and improving border security.

Thank you for the link.

She'll probably lose big time:

Busby won 43.92% of the vote as of the latest tally, but she was one of only two Democrats on the ballot (the other got just 1.32%). Fourteen Republicans divided up a majority of the vote, and it seems highly unlikely that Busby will be able to manage a runoff majority in this GOP district.

"All I have to say to the Democrats, "Don't count your chickens before they hatch."

What chickens? The GOP has already sold their chickens, your chickens, my chickens, and our kids chickens; It is hard to imagine how the Dems can screw it up any worse then it already is; although, they probably would have destroyed us even faster. ;-(

In all this media psy-op against Republicans, it's good to repeat the facts. The House Republicans should not be blamed for the immigration fiasco.

Yes. You are exactly right. Let's shoot down all of our conservative causes to teach those Republicans a lesson. Let's give the Dems 8 years so they can choose the next few SC judges. There's no difference. Alito and Roberts would have both been the first choice of a H Clinton presidency. She will also give us more tax cuts than the Republicans have. Abortion? Heck, all abortions would have been banned by now! The War on Terror? There's no difference between Michael Moore and G W Bush!

All these Republicans and Democrats are always so nice to each other, because they're all in such agreement! There's no partisanship in DC! Bush could switch his party affiliation to Dem and Kennedy to Rep and nobody would know the difference. Constitution Party? Yeah, that'll tech 'em ! /sarc

I'm going to have to rub the nap in a different direction. I believe the GOP is indeed in trouble and it's at their own asking. As a GOP supporter I can see weak back bones within the GOP and see clearly that politics plays a bigger role over statesmanship (in layman terms I mean to say the GOP politicians are more concerned about his or her ability to hold their jobs above the actual insight to protect this country!).
We need to segregate politicians from true statesman and vote accordingly!

We left Bush I hanging on the line when he sold us out.

And that ushered in eight years of Bill Clinton, one of our most monumentally negligent presidents and led directly to the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks and the nearly simultaneous anthrax attacks.

It led to Monic Lewinsky giving a president of the United States a BJ under the desk in the Oval Office while he as on the phone with a Congressman discussing national security matters.

It led to a president who openly and egregiously lied under oath.

It led to the American people hearing, and worse, accepting from a president, "It depends on what the meaning of the word IS, is."

It led to our missile technology being sold to the Communist Chinese. It led to North Korea and Pakistan developing nuclear bombs and the means to deliver them.

It led to eight years of a no-fly zone over Iraq, the breathtakingly corrupt Oil for Food program, and our bombing Iraq on a weekly, sometimes daily basis.

It led to increased terrorist attacks on American interests throughout the 1990's, including the first World Trade Center bombing and the bombings of our embassies in Nigeria and Tanzania.

It led to Waco, followed by Oklahoma City.

So pardon me if I don't join you in celebrating the fickle, shortsighted history of "we" who "left Bush I hanging on the line."

I wasn't celebrating it. Just observing that Republicans tend to hold our leadership to their word, even if it is detrimental to the party and the cause.

Everything that happened after Clinton took the oath is on him, not on us.

Keep reassuring yourself as "we" usher in an even worse era once Pelosi, Conyers, Maxine Waters, Leahy, Kennedy, and all the other vicious hard Left dolts on Capitol Hill get their grubby hands on power. "We" Republicans...so high toned, so principled, so moral, so special. Gag.

Ditto Post 30.

I don't consider myself a Republican. I consider myself an anti-Democrat.

Privately, some GOP political handicappers, in a race-by-race assessment, predict that the Democrats will pull it off ...

If there were any truth to this story you would think someone making these predictions would have the 'nads to come right out and say: "YEA! I predict the Republicans are going to get their clocks cleaned this fall!

"Anonymous sources" "privately, some .." "unnamed sources"

Anything sells as "news" these days.

Well, the flip side is, the GOP loss in 1992 led to a re-assessment and the Contract With America in 1994, which was the start of the current GOP power monopoloy at the fed level. So one can also make an argument that sometimes it is good for a political party to lose and get back to its core.

However, I don't think 2006 is the time to do that. Bush is not up for re-election, so there is no "lesson" that can be taught to him. But the GOP House members are up for re-election. We need to stand with them, since they stood against amnesty.

Thank you for pointing that out. The only place the Republicans are doing things right is in the House. Everyone needs to vote on their Representative no matter what! If your Senator is a joke then leave it blank, if you don't like who the Presidential choices are leave it blank but stick by the House.

I live in north Texas so I will be voting for my Senators and my Congressman, we'll see who gets the Presidential nod.

Nice catch, lol. I would assume however that they mean that the Dems are really gonna push the incarcerated felon vote this year and should be able to win a few seats in districts where there are large prisons.
