I had a beautiful niece, cute as a button who used to get abused because she was pudgy, I'm talking 10 lbs overweight. It didn't help that the folks around her were anorexically thin (80, 85 lbs)
She would cry and I would tell her, that we can all always find a way to get fit and thin, but Stupid is permanent(refering to fools who teased her).
Unfortunately, she got thin AND stupid.
My girls wear glasses and would be picked on at school too
Kids can be pretty cruel ... especially the "popular ones"
I just told them there are jerks in this world and that when they grow up they are even bigger jerks
That it's more important to have friends that you can count on then to have fly by night friends who are in the "popular" club
It took a little while for that to sink in their heads .. but they are starting to see what I meant
