PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten -- Barbaric and inhumane is how a top tourism official in Saint Maarten describes the beating of two gay Americans, news partner NBC 6 reported.
Dick Jefferson and Ryan Smith were airlifted from the Caribbean tourist island to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami after being beaten with tire irons.
Jefferson has been released, but Smith is reportedly being treated for brain damage, NBC 6 reported.
The men, journalists from New York, were outside a bar Thursday when they were attacked by three men.

Exactly. It's the lense the left wing media sees everything through. I don't have to agree with, or like their lifestyle. But beating someone with a tire iron is just wrong no matter what, and I fail to see what their lifestyle has to do with this at all.

An American gay man, Smith, was being consoled by a friend. Smith had a recent death in his family.
Apparently, some local men did not like the embracing between Smith and his friend, and yelled anti-gay slurs. The local men picked up chairs to hit Smith, his friend, and others, but they local men were ejected from the bar by bouncers.
The local men waited outside for the gay men to leave the bar and attacked them at a nearby location. Smith and a CBS producer were hit on the head. The CBS producer has been released from the hospital. Smith has permanent brain damage and must be taught to speak again.
The local men were never in danger of rape. Where did not you get your facts?
