Here stands a man on the precipice of pulling off the Cinderella political story of the year. Yet, because he is woefully unprepared, he stands at risk of falling flat on his face.

And no one will remember who ran his campaign. All that will be remembered is that he lost, that he looked unprepared, that he couldn't raise money. Swann's name will carry the folly of this campaign.

Is that what he wants his legacy to be? Is that what the Republican Party had in mind?

Swann himself needs to have a come-to-Jesus moment. How badly does he want to be governor?

I expect the Dem's to trash him like they trash Michael Steele. Black politicians rising to national prominence cannot and will not be accepted in or outside the Democratic Party.

uh i am Salena...not a liberal, far from it worked for three presidents, two us senators and one governor cammpaign
only lost one...
all republicans...
am i a biatch well, that is debateble...
my point was I WANT HIM TO WIN
but he cannot win under these circumstances
if you saw what i saw on that campaign you would be just as fired up as i am
if you doubt my conservative card take the time to read ALL of my columns
this was a 'pay attention people' column
not a rip on Swann column...

Bias or not, Swann has definitely caused himself some problems of late. There's no question he's an inexperienced campaigner... and isn't learning quickly.

However... Swann has led in some polls and Rendell currently only leads by two.

For an incumbent statewide candidate to be uncomfortably below the 50% Mendoza line and be up by less than the margin of error... well, that's almost begging for a political obituary to be written now. Imagine how well Swann would be doing if he did know how to campaign?

he needs a bigger boat, northeastner is me, salena...he needs to be better prepared and it is not happening, i wrote this column with the hope that someone pays attention...someone...anyone...i was not bashing lynn, i was bashing how unprepared he is and that is not his fault, your campaign team should always have you ready

read all of the other Swann stories i wrote, you know it took balls to tell it like it is because i want him to win

A bit early to get all hot and bothered. The real race doesn't start until after Labor Day. Swann needs to raise money and keep his powder dry.

Well, it really didn't sound like a constructive article. Mostly because of the abundance of liberal "buzzwords". If you really want him to win, stop sounding like some kind of political operative. PA is known for plain spoken, hard working people. Let the dems get hoisted by their own petards when they spew doublespeak. Lynn will make a great governor if the entrenched politicos are just told to go pound salt.
