MEXICO CITY - The Mexican government slammed a newly approved immigrant enforcement law in the U.S. state of Georgia, saying the legislation discriminates against Mexicans while failing to resolve the migration issue.

Ruben Aguilar, the spokesman for President Vicente Fox, told a news conference Tuesday that Mexican consular officials will closely watch the application of the law, which gives Georgia some of the toughest measures against illegal immigrants in the United States.

``I want to make this clear: we are not, Georgia's government is not, and this bill is not, anti-immigrant,'' Perdue said at the signing in Atlanta. ``We simply believe that everyone who lives in our state needs to abide by our laws.''

What a unique concept!

Perhaps the Georgia National Guard should invade Mexico, confiscate its oil fields, and hang Fox from the nearest lamp post.

Isn't it just beautiful? Fox's supportive buddy Bush, a Congress that is afraid of thug illegals in the streets, and this is the exact arrogant, twisted byproduct of that very scenario.

As the illegals just continue to laugh at our borders, our government and our laws...and just keep streaming in.

** FIRE WASHINGTON!!! **

So, if canadians were coming across in droves, illegally, would we be discriminating against the french by not wanting them here either?

...so the people who make the law want the law treated as serious? What a novel concept...

I think it's a disgrace a state feels it necessary to pass such legislation. Hello? Washington?

Perhaps they should look at their policy of dealing with illegals before taking issue with ours...

I wish some of our elected officials would develop some spinal fortitude and tell Fox and his minions that we are a sovereign nation that laws are written for the benefit of the American citizens and that if he along with his cronys have the interest of the Mexican people thjey would enact program to raise them above the poverty they now experience in their own country., no I quess that is not diplomatic.

The Georgia National Guard is all it would take. I'll chip in lunch money if needed.

Let's be diplomatic about this. Why not make peace with Mexico and adopt Mexican immigration laws seeing that we have none of our own. Of course, Mexican immigration laws are some of the strictest laws in the world, but at least we could make Mexico, the far left wing kook brigade, and the American citizen all happy at the same time! Who could argue with a bill such as this? It's a win/win situation for everyone.

"I thought I should fix AP's headline."

Which, like most other media outlests, is being willfully and knowingly dishonest in their terminology.
