WOODLAND - A Yolo Superior Court judge on Monday dismissed a controversial misdemeanor hit-and-run case that prompted a protest in Davis by people who claimed the case was an example of selective prosecution of a person of color.
*snip*
The girl claims she was questioned by a male police officer without another person present, in violation of Muslim beliefs.

Is there a comment in the Koran that backs her up or (I assume) a Cultural rule?

I lived about a year in Davis and hated it. Imagine, I moved back to Santa Cruz- I feel like Davis followed me. But this is where my family lives so I will indure.

I graduated from UCD. Got a job in Sac, so stayed in Davis for another 15 years. I got to the point that the pretentiousness and elitism of the people in Davis got under my skin. Decided to move to Dixon, where real people live.

Santa Cruz is Davis with a beach. Let's face it...the libs acquired all the good real estate in California.

True....but let them try to get by without the San Joaquin and Imperial Vallies.

Living in San Joaquin and Imperial Valleys usually requires hard work. Places like Santa Cruz are best suited for navel-gazing, which is what libs do best.

Well, if she wants Sharia law to be applied in this case, I think that it should be applied fully:
"Driving by women leads to evil," Munir al-Shahrani wrote in a letter to the editor of the Al-Watan daily. "Can you imagine what it will be like if her car broke down? She would have to seek help from men."
...the ban is based on fatwas, or Islamic edicts, by senior clerics who say that any driving by women would create situations for sinful temptation....
Without written permission from a male guardian, women may not travel, get an education or work. Regardless of permission, they are not allowed to mix with men in public or leave home without wearing black cloaks, called abayas.
So, no hit & run charge, but 50 lashes in the UC Davis Stadium. Or no lashes, no Sharia, and a hit & run charge. We have to be culturally sensitive, after all.
