Thank you. Because I'm a therapist, I was able to recognize early on that something was not right. He had multiple evaluations and was seen by an excellent specialist, developmental pediatrician. The school knows something is not quite 'right', but haven't been able to put their finger on it. :) I don't want him labeled, because there are so many people out there that think like others here do.. judgemental.

ADHD is herediatary. My husband suspected for years he had it. They tested him as well as my son. And guess what? My husand also did well, thankfully. But he still wishes it hadn't been so hard.

"ADHD is herediatary. "

And contagious.

There may be some instances when medications are a proper course of action. At least the attempt. However many years ago when my son was in elementary school a teacher called me, highly upset to tell me he had been practicing UN acceptable behavior. She went on to inquire whether I had my son seen by a doctor and recommended something like Ritalin. His UN acceptable behavior was that he had climbed a tree at recess that was on school property in the play area and had placed a marble in his mouth.

Now I don't know about you but I think that is an example that just reinforces the original article.
