This goes without saying, but any "Fed" that doesn't want progress to be made needs to be replaced with one who does. We need to start targeting the ones that need to be defeated so the people know who to vote against.
The Republican politicians need to remember they are there to do the will of the people who elected them. They do a decent job on a number of issues as has President Bush and they don't need to take a pol on every issue that comes down the pike, but they should know their constituents because they should be of the same mind.
For example, Lindsey Graham gets elected on conservative principles and probably follows through in voting properly the majority of the time (properly being the will of his constituents). The issue of illegal immigration comes up and he basically tells his constituents "Be quiet, I know more about this than you and believe me my position is for your own benefit."
The problem is that whether he is right or wrong he is there to represent the people of South Carolina and their desires. If his office is slammed with calls and letters flow from his people to stop the illegal immigration and no to amnesty and if they already have rejected his arguments to persuade them then his obligation is to vote No to amnesty and Yes to the fence and enforcement.
I guess what I am clumsily trying to say is that many Republican office holder do right on many issues they just forget that they are representing a group of people. A Rino whos constituents are Rinos must do Rino things, but a "conservative" whos constituents are conservative needs to vote accordingly whether he agrees on that one issue or not.
I would hate to see Dems take over in areas where the Pubs have forgotten who they represent when on a number of issues they do right.
