We never should have let the Russians in on this. And yes, before anyone flames, I know that the Russkies are our only transport at times. But that's only because NASA i s run by a bunch of p*ssies unwilling to accept that bad things happen and life goes on (Congress is also to blame.) Good thing these idiots didn't dictate the development of air travel back in the 1920s and '30s.
We'd maybe be up to the DC-6 by now.
