All FReepers and lurkers in good standing are invited to join the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic at our 8th annual freep of the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday, April 29, 2006 in Washington, D.C.

This is our most fun freep of the year. You never know who in the media and political world you'll meet there. Over the years, we've met and debated the likes of Al Franken, razzed Paul Begala and James Carville, been filmed by Drew Barrymore, cheered on Fox News reporters and freeped the liberal media with humor and serious barbs.

Afterward, we retire to the hotel where the dinner is held and watch it on TV in the bar while we dine and relax with our FRiends.

When: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April29, 2006

Where: Across from the Washington Hilton, 1900 Connecticut Avenue and T Street, NW, Washington D.C.

This is a rain or shine event.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

One of the best times I have ever had was "freeping" the White House Cororespondents Dinner! I strongly urge anyone who can possibly make it to be there!

Kristinn--it's killing me to miss this, too. Hopefully, life is going to slow down one of these days, and I can make it back to DC for some fun time with the DC freepers!

(Remember George Stephanopolos running like crazy to get away from us? I still get hysterical just thinking about it!).

Y'all have fun--and when you see Begala, be sure and tell him he's still not rich or important enough enough to enter Lakeway--LOL!

I can't remember which year I was able to come to DC for this, but oh my....it was fabulous....so much fun....and maybe one of the best parts was seeing (and hugging) the DC freepers who do us proud ALL the time.

I love you guys!!!

I'll never forget the first of the Bush 2 administration. We all cheered for Ralph Nader. He was smiling from across the street, but sure changed his expression as he got closer. Thanks again Ralph for your votes in Florida.

We'll make it to Phelps FReep but we won't make it the WHC Dinner due to the Olney FReep. Those that go to the Phelps FReep can just take Metro WH, have a quick brewsky and to the WHC Dinner.

I hope you all don't go to "the Hilton" for drinks afterwards.

UNfortunately, due to the HAIL,windstorms, frequent fires & flooding that we've had lately around here lately, we've had very little time off.

we HAVE to respond to those situations, as our new little company is under contract & MUST "drop everything & show up", whenever we are called, 24/7.

we've been averaging 1-4 of those calls a day for the last 6 weeks.
