Fox News commentator/host Tony Snow is still "in negotiations for the job of White House press secretary," Friday's New York Times says.
"Republicans said [Joshua] Bolten has been focused on finding a new White House press secretary with good contacts in the Washington news media and a deep understanding of how they work."
And Snow definitely fits that description. But:
"Associates of Mr. Snow, 50, said he has been weighing whether he and his family are up for the rigors of such a demanding job. Mr. Snow had surgery for colon cancer last year and is awaiting an clearance from doctors before making a deal, according to people with knowledge of his deliberations who spoke on condition of anonymity because they did not want to upset private discussions at a sensitive time."

I know you mean well, but that's a little insulting. Tony has had a serious bout with colon cancer. The most important thing he and his family must weigh is whether or not it makes sense for him to take such a demanding job. It requires a lot of travel and long hours.

I'd hate to see Tony leave the comforts of Fox and move to the rigors of the White House. He's such a class act. He would however, make mincemeat of fugly old helen thomas and I'd give anything to see that!
