I found out later that my darling ex was there.
Had I known, she would have never had a chance to be in a position to become my ex.
*sigh*
Can we poke fun preemptively? :-p
I've been screwed by too many lawyers to have sympathy for any of them. Parasites is a more fitting term for them.
So, politely Capt. Jake, F off.
Sure you can, everyone else does...
Speaking of scum sucking worthless never have done anything worthwhile in their lives lawyers, for fun, watch a Joe Jamail deposition. Joe is such a pussy kat....
I believe you are trying to put words in my mouth.
Ouch.
So dad? We learned in school today that in India a man doesn't even know his wife until they get married.
Well, son, it's the same here...
FTR, we don't have any lawyers in the family, mostly engineers. But my sister needed them twice in her life. First was a smart-ass kid at her high school (dispute over a boy, of all things) who kept crank calling our house at all hours of the night. We'd get our phone number changed, she'd somehow managed to get it, would crank out house. Since my grandmother was in the hospital, every call was taken seriously, even the BS crank ones at 3:00 a.m. When we finally got proof she was making the calls, she accused my sister of cranking her house (she didn't). This girl's uncle was a cop, had my sister arrested (they couldn't care about the situation when my parents called, though). It was a mess.
Kick-ass bull dog attorney got this girl to admit ON THE STAND that she lied about the incident AND that she cranked my house plenty of times. This girl and her little crew of misfits never went near my sister again.
Second time was a horrible car accident. My sister faced a grand jury for vehicular homicide (jury did not move forward, cleared her), a DMV hearing (the driver of the second car got HIS license revoked because he and his stoner buddies were menacing my sister with his car), and a civil suit (where another kick-ass bull dog attorney got stoner boy to admit that he was high that night, that he was menacing my sister, that he and his jerky friends chased for her over 10 miles in their car, that he struck her car as she swerved to avoid a kid on a bike that decided to cross the street against the light, and that he attempted to flee the scene).
My parents raised all 5 of us to live life respectfully, to obey God's commandment, to obey the law, and to not dishonor our family name with dishonorable acts. Rotten things happen to good, innocent people. We learned rather quickly that folks who think they may never need a lawyer can suddenly find themselves hiring one!
That car accident was 15 years ago, and my sister has NEVER gotten over it. The three years of torture that followed only made it worse.
God bless the attorneys! They fought and fought until the truth came out!
It's bad enough that many cops are simply not very bright and are incompetent; making matters worse, though, is that many of them will outright lie. I have a friend who was a prosecutor for many years. He said the biggest frustration he had was dealing with lying cops. Defense attorneys are the only tool available to hold them accountable.
Usually by the time it gets to trial and lawyers in a courtroom, the DA has enough blood level contents or breath test contents to have a truly drunk driver on his hands.
There are far toooo many drivers out there who have pled down on this charge for years, and after 10-20-30-+ arrests for drunk driving they finally kill a wad of people. The drunk driver problem has been swept under the rug for far too many years. I don't have ANY sympathy for any of them. Too many options to get home without driving and endangering lots of other innocent people.
When some drunk takes out someone close to you, you might think differently.
I don't take back anything I said.
I support your feelings.
You think the defendant might get a continuation?? LOL
According to his bio, this guy was Order of the Coif (typically meaning that he graduated in the top 10% of his class) and on the Law Review at the University of North Carolina, which is a very good law school. With those brains he could have been arguing before the Supreme Court or doing complex tax litigation if he wanted.
There's good sharks, uh, attorneys out there for sure, looks like you found a couple of Perry Mason types. It simply is not common knowledge (just scanning the previous 70 or so comments shows there's not a general respect for that profession) that lawyers are held in high esteem. Does it say something when you take a man's land and give it to illegal aliens and are proud of it? does it say something about the profession when you sack a company because some klutz spills coffee in her lap while driving??? Sorry man, we all know a few good ones, but the general impression of attorneys is that THEY ARE SCUM.
I guess this guy can now officially be taken off the list "ambulance chasers" and put on the list of "ambulance riders".
Hey friend, I don't want you to take back anything you said. It's a free country and you're entitiled to your opinions no matter how clueless they might be.
By the way, there are countries in the world where all it takes is an accusation to land a person in jail or dead. Maybe you'd be more comfortable in one of those locales.
