Update: CIA Officer Fired for Leaking Classified Info to Media

WASHINGTON — A CIA officer has been relieved of his duty after being caught leaking classified information to the media.

CIA officials will not reveal the officer's name, assignment, or the information that was leaked. The firing is a highly unusual move, although there has been an ongoing investigation into leaks in the CIA.

One official called this a "damaging leak" that deals with operational information and said the fired officer "knowingly and willfully" leaked the information to the media and "was caught."

It makes one wonder if this recently fired CIA person was involved in anyway in the referral of the Plame case to Fitz.

It sounds like they had the access.

Gibson at Fox also mentioned there is/was a group of CIA agents that were trying to undermine Bush, and he talked about Valerie Plame. Can this possibly lead to the nabbing of a whole rogue group that Plame will be a part of? I would bet yes.

BTW .. Have we found out yet who exactly invited Plame to the WH Correspondence Dinner yet??

One of my brothers ran internal affairs from his police department for 5 years. People trusted into departments like this one at the CIA have allot of trust and pull within an agency. They have access that others do not and can pull other employees files if they claim they have some reasonable cause, even if they have fabricated it.

This is a huge catch. This person will roll over quickly and work with the prosecution to lesser thier federal prison sentence. Remember, this person had admitted guilt already. They will cop a plea because they are looking at a very long prison sentence.

Quite simply, Goss is the man. The real deal. A good example of why we have to win in 2008. Hillary will have this guy fired within 15 minutes of taking the oath of office.
