Michael Reagan: It's All 'Jimmah' Carter's Fault
NewsMax ^ | 4/21/06 | Michael Reagan

Posted on 04/22/2006 6:39:20 AM PDT by wagglebee

Everybody's playing the blame game these days. The current target is Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who seems to be standing in for President Bush – the man who his enemies say is responsible for everything that's gone wrong since the Biblical flood. ("Bush lied about the need to build an ark.")

South of our borders we have a nut job running oil-rich Venezuela and threatening to do all kinds of nasty things to us. In North Korea we have another nut job building nukes and rattling sabers, and in Iran there's still another whacked-out leader threatening to blow Israel off the map, for starters.

Believe me, Rummy had nothing to do with any of that. Nor did George Bush. If you're looking for someone to point the finger at, look no further than James Earl Carter. Every one of these problems can be laid at the door of the Georgia peanut farmer and self-anointed evangelist for world peace, understanding, good-will, and promoter of universal love-ins with dictators who hate us.

Let's begin with Iran, a boiling cauldron of hatred for everything associated with Western civilization. Recall that when Jimmah took office Iran was ruled by a strong ally of the United States, the Shah. Like most Middle Eastern potentates, the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, ruled with an iron hand. Under him, Iran was not the kind of democracy we're now promoting for the Middle East.

The Shah, however, was also the staunch friend and ally of the United States. He saw to it that the oil kept flowing in our direction, and kept his military in good-enough shape to protect our interests in the area.

But the Shah somehow offended Brother Carter's exalted view of the inherent goodness of a mankind freed from the strictures imposed by dictatorial rules. With a wink and a nod, he arranged to have Pahlavi replaced by an exiled mullah - the Ayatollah Khomeini - who in Carter's view would be a moderate leader who would democratize Iran.

What Carter got for us was a Muslim fanatic seething with hatred for everything Western, who without blinking an eye spat on our national sovereignty when he took over the United States embassy in Tehran and held 52 American hostages for 444 days, until the U.S. came to its senses and elected my dad Ronald Reagan to replace the hapless Jimmy Carter.

Thanks to Carter, Iran today constitutes a grave threat to the United States and to world peace. He allowed the creation of an Islamic Republic bent on imposing the most repressive form of Islam on the entire world.

Then we can turn to Venezuela, now locked in the grip of a Castro-clone and fervent communist Hugo Chavez, who is creating a heavily armed communist dictatorship on our southern doorstep. When Chavez faced a recall election Cater was on hand to monitor the election, which turned out to be rigged to elect Chavez from the very start. Despite overwhelming evidence that the Chavez victory was the result of rampant vote fraud, Mr. Carter put his stamp of approval on it, declaring it to have been fair and honest. Carter kept Chavez in office.

In 1994, when Bill Clinton was facing down North Korea's Kim Il-Sung, father of current dictator Kim Jong-Il, he sent Carter to strike a deal on his development of nuclear technology. Speaking of the dying murderous dictator, Carter said he found him "vigorous, intelligent, surprisingly well-informed about the technical issues, and in charge of the decisions about this country," and added, "I don't see the [North Koreans] are an outlaw nation."

The deal Carter made allowed the North Koreans to work behind the scenes to build nuclear weapons which now threaten world peace. When he came back from North Korea he told CNN's Judy Woodruff, "I think it's all roses now..."

I agree with Jack Kinsella who once wrote in the Omega Letter Daily Intelligence Digest that "... Jimmy Carter holds the hands-down record for being the worst ex-president the United States has ever known. His post-presidential meddling in foreign affairs has cost America dearly, both in terms of international credibility and international prestige."

Amen

Bill Clinton was a greedy, power drunk sex addict, but he can't hold a candle to Carter when it comes to siding with America's enemies.

Can you feel the LOVE in this room?

Fingerpointing and fault laying accomplishes exactly zero.

It's the "KATRINA effect" all over again.

Knowing and understanding what ,who and how things happen is useful as a guide for the future. As sweet as revenge may be,it's ridiculously stupid.

"Let's begin with Iran, a boiling cauldron of hatred for everything associated with Western civilization. "

That's not entirely true - some of the aging leadership might be described that way, but there's also some moderates there. And the mid-to-younger generations love their cellphones, satellite TVs, internet, and nightlife as much as their Western counterparts (and much to the annoyance of their elders).

Christ will judge him for his unbelief and Jimmy Carter will be cast in the lake of fire for the evil he has and is doing against God and Christianity.

It's about time someone wrote this. Michael Reagan did an excellent job. I think Khomeini's rise to power may be a major cause of today's Islamic terror.

Here's the recipe to produce Islamic terrorists:
Create a Muslim theocratic state.
Establish Muslim law, Muslim schools, teach Jihad.
The schools provide an inspiration and are copied in other nations.
Add about 20 years.

That should bring us to today. And it all started with Jimmy Carter's decision that the Shah wasn't good enough for him. He would not support a dictator who was pro-American. But as Michael details, he had no trouble supporting dictators who were anti-American.

Yes but unfortunately no one is undertaking the radical changes necessary to solve the problems. Besides reforms, we also need to do some more killing. The mullahs first, then knock Cuba out, maybe have Chavez assassinated. The the situation would be a lot better. North Korea, (armed by Clinton) is actually little threat, their nukes likely are not functional, they have no effective means of delivery, plus there country is such a wreck, they cannot even feed themselves, let alone fight. The have almost no oil, any war they start will fail when their tanks and planes stop for lack of fuel. The are just trying to get aid. Talks with them is stupid, it is what they want. They are just blackmailers and criminals. Cut off all communication and aid, seize their ships carrying weapons, drugs and counterfeit money, and let them whine, do not respond.

Fingerpointing and fault laying accomplishes exactly zero.

I beg your pardon, but I must disagree. Figuring out exactly what went wrong, and who made it go wrong, is the first step in fixing a solution.

Knowing, for example, that trusting anti-American dictators leads to more trouble is HUGELY important in making future decisions. For decades we've let the Left howl at us for "propping up undemocratic regimes" merely because they were friendly to us. Well, now we see what happens when we abandon that tactic. This makes it much easier to defend our earlier stance. And in case you can't tell, when we lose our confidence in our moral authority to act on our own behalf, we lose our will to fight for our survival.

Look at the two presidents the left have given us over the last thirty years, Carter and Clinton. I rest my case.

Carter: Iran, Panama Canal, North Korea, Hugo Chavez

Carter should be in a straight jacket with his leg chained to a table somewhere we'll never know about. This man's ignorance knows no bounds.

Knowing and understanding? That's rich. On the day Jimmy's pick, Khomenhi, was buried the howling mobs of insane Muslims rioted so badly that they actually toppled his glass coffin in the street and his rotten old carcass fell out onto the ground. Remember that?

I watched that evil unfold on my TV, and that is when I KNEW and UNDERSTOOD that there was going to be WWIII with those people.

If you really think that finger pointing accomplishes zero, how about if enough fingers point at the real damage Carter has done to the U.S., at the real danger he has helped perpetrate against the U.S.? What if we all agreed that our former President is guilty of high treason? Could we try him?

I do indeed, and in a perfect world, the America-haters and nay-sayers will, on the day that Jimmah leaves this mortal coil, do the exact same thing as the body of the Buffoon from Plains is being carried hither and yon.

Jimmy Carter was and is a traitor to the United States. He used his power while in the White House to assist our enemies, to limit and reduce our military capabilities to respond to those enemies, sold out our vital interests not only in Iran, but in Panama, his spineless behavior emboldened the Soviets to invade and occupy Afghanistan, and his record of betrayal only goes on and on.

Any and every sort of leftist apologist will whine about "fingerpointing and blaming accomplishes nothing", blah-blah-blah, but what such idiots fail to undertand is that it isn't fingerpointing and blaming, it is holding people accountable for their actions.

Jimmy Carter has skated for decades with nary a word said about his treasonous behavior. He has sucked up to, and thrown his arms around America's enemies, praising them while condemning the United States, wrapping his hypocrisy in the wrapper of Christianity when in fact the only thing Carter has in common with Christianity is the character Judas, the REAL Judas, not the recently rehabilitated image that is being foisted upon the public.

Clinton may have left a stain on Monica's dress, but the greater stain which will never be erased is the stain that Carter left on America's honor, integrity and dignity.

If I saw that despicable puke on fire, I would not p*ss on him to put him out.
