The Secret War Against President Bush (John Gibson)
Fox News ^ | 04/21/2006 | By John Gibson

Posted on 04/22/2006 9:35:38 AM PDT by oxcart

On Friday, the CIA busted one of its own and charged him — or her — with leaking classified information.

While this guy or gal goes to jail, over at The Washington Post, reporter Dana Priest is still admiring the brand new Pulitzer Prize sitting on her mantle, for writing about what this very leaker told her: the secret prison story.

It was last November when Priest published a story in The Washington Post that the U.S. was maintaining a secret array of prisons where American intelligence could interrogate Al Qaeda-types who had been captured on the field of battle or picked up off the streets, wherever we could find them.

Coincidentally, on Friday, the European Union's anti-terrorism chief told a hearing that he had not been able to prove that secret CIA prisons really existed.

Whether they existed or not, the CIA spook evidently told Dana Priest something about secret prisons that qualified as leaking classified information. So it's off to Stony Lonesome.

All reporters would love to win a Pulitzer. Few know how it feels. Fewer still know how it feels to win one of the top prizes in the profession, while somebody goes off the prison so you could win your prize.

What is really going on here is the secret war by CIA-types against President Bush and his policies. This is the group inside the CIA — think Valerie Plame — who think their opinions and analysis of the world should trump whatever it is the president thinks. If the president goes against their opinion, they call The New York Times and start leaking embarrassing stuff.

It's a war against Bush, waged by Americans.

It's wrong, it's illegal and people are going to start going to jail. That's good.

The Secret War Against President Bush (John Gibson)

Simply amazing how the Cintonoids are able to still control everything in the DeMARXocrat party and how they are able to actually use 'The Goverment for the People by the People' to destroy the country while attempting to destroy a Republican president.

While finding out someone in our own CIA hates America was not a shock, I am wondering how much deeper this goes. I would bet that there are more agents involved and also others outside of the CIA who are connected.

And I hope this agent is executed for treason.

The sad part is that where there is one, there are many, most likely involved in a great deal of CYA at the the CIA. Look at the number of leaks of classified information in the last 6 years. Mz McCarthy is hardly even the snowflake on the tippy-top of the iceberg.
The worst kept secret in washington is that the DIA, the NSA, the CIA and the State dept. are fully loaded with great-society era anti-american liberal one-world bureaucratic lifers with their own agendas, which are, for the most part, far, far, from having the best interest of the US at heart.

And yes, she is the "namesake" daughter of an infamous closet communist writer of the 60's and 70's.

Hmmm, a farmer is supposed to discern on penalty of prison whether or not a fruit picker is an illegal alien.

Meanwhile a journalist not only walks around free but receives an award because he/she published confidential info passed illegally by a CIA agent.

There is something real wrong here.

CIA officer fired after admitting leak, (Mary McCarthy named in this article)
Msnnbc.msn.com ^ | April 21, 2006 | Robert Windrem and Andrea Mitchell

Posted on 04/22/2006 8:32:31 AM PDT by Grampa Dave

The officer flunked a polygraph exam before being fired on Thursday and is now under investigation by the Justice Department, NBC has learned.

Intelligence sources tell NBC News the accused officer, Mary McCarthy, worked in the CIA's inspector general's office and had worked for the National Security Council under the Clinton and and George W. Bush administrations.

The leak pertained to stories on the CIA’s rumored secret prisons in Eastern Europe, sources told NBC. The information was allegedly provided to Dana Priest of the Washington Post, who wrote about CIA prisons in November and was awarded a Pulitzer Prize on Monday for her reporting.

Sources said the CIA believes McCarthy had more than a dozen unauthorized contacts with Priest. Information about subjects other than the prisons may have been leaked as well.

John should have titled this "The NOT So Secret War Against Bush." Nonsense has been ongoing since inauguration, 2001. Some have never recovered from the Election of 2000.

Absolutely! We elect these people to look out for our interests, only to be betrayed time and time again.Whoever said power corrupts was right on the money. Some of their actions leave me shaking my head in wonder. Can these people be that dumb? The people who could do the job have no interest in running. The powers that be will dig up dirt on them for things they did in grade school!Who,in their right mind would put themselves, and their families through that nonsense?I can say I am ashamed of the majority of them.Kerry,Kennedy,Pelosi,et al,makes me wonder of the sanity of the voting public.America is in a crisis at the present time, much of it caused from within our own elected officials, who have come to worship camera face time, rather than concern for their own people.Dysfunctional is too kind a word.If the majority of them ever held a real job, they wouldn't last one day.

Methinks a federal prosecutor should add a charge of "conspiracy to commit treason" to both the leaker, and of course the leakee (including the editors that approved publication).

Might make some of the elitest traitors rethink their activities. Probably good for an extra 10-15 years added onto their sentences (hopefully consecutively).

I don't think our leaders have the fortitude to do what it takes to reign in these, what I refer to them as,subversives. To undermine our country for a few brownie points is a testament to ones character. It appears a good lot of them have none.I am praying that this will not die out,and the'perps'get their just rewards.I am hoping a lot more comes out of this.I also hope this can of worms has only had the lid removed, and the rest spill out.I know this is just wishful thinking,as a lot of people are in the CYA mode. The Klintoons showed us just how much a person with power[persons]can get away with.Sad.

You may be right, but I doubt very much will come of it.The traitor at the CIA,more than likely has quite a few friends in the department who think just like her.A purge is what is needed. For some reason,to me,purge,is another word for vomit. An ordinary person off the street would be put in the slammer for even thinking certain thoughts out loud, that our elected officials not only think about, but have the audacity to act on them. For some reason,I can not visualize that happening unless someone spills the beans. After all,it may mean some bad press!Like there isnt any of that going on!

There is a war of words regarding "leaking" right now. Much of it intended to fool the public.

The MSM is pretending dangerous leaking is coming from the WH.

However, this is just a cover for the the fact that the real dangerous leaking is that done by CIA and other elements. And has been for years. Bush & Goss are cleaning up the system.

Excuse me .. John was not "a little out there on his war on Christmas".

Obviously, you're not a Christian who has been watching the constant nick picking of the "church and state" arguments. Since there is NO CONSTITUTIONAL law forbidding Christian influence in the govt - most of this stuff was made up by the ACLU - using the "church and state" MYTH!!

Get informed!!

Only a minor skirmish day .. but I wanted you to react .. that's why I said what I did. It might have seemed over the top because it was so much all at once - and when you put all the attacks against Christianity together in one book - THAT'S WHAT YOU GET - IT IS OVER THE TOP! John wasn't over reacting - he was just reporting what information was out there WHICH THE DRIVE-BY MEDIA WOULDN'T REPORT - because it doesn't fit their agenda and they basically agree with the ACLU.

I don't find it offensive for any of these "conservative" or "Christian" people to HAWK THEIR OWN BOOKS ON THEIR OWN PROGRAMS. I know I would!

If I posted what I really think of the ACLU... my info page would be blue with a "this account has been banned or suspended" message.

I don't mind some self promotion, but if you watched his show during that time he was over the top IMHO.

PS Our tag-lines seem to agree with our feelings of the MSM.
