The Left rejects natural law and thinks of all positive law as a matter of whimsy.

The press/media are getting so lazy now they do not want to actually report news but just copy each other and get self publicity.

Exactly...I was no fan of Blair in the 90's, but he has proven to be a good Allie after 9/11. BTW.. I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters from 1990-93 and loved every minute of it!

Good point you would never get the above idea through Senate confirmation hearings and would be too bloody and damaging to the administration.

Not that I am in favour of the shuffle anyway.

He has been a good allie but I am no fan either.

Suffolk is a lovely county especially for holidays.

Note to Fred Barnes-

GO TO HELL.

And take McCain's mouthpiece Billy Kristol with you.

Too harsh? No, too leniant I'd say. I'm sick of you stuck up pretentious unprincipled beltway RINO sycophants.

If you want to really tick off the American people, really want to lose the elections? Just you try and get rid of Rummy And Cheney. Now sit down, shut up, and listen to us for a change.

People are furious with Republicans for one damn reason only. They promised conservative action in their campaigns and since election McCain and his cabal have gotten together and led a Rockefellar Revolt because they couldn't win an election honestly. They failed on 41's second campaign, the first he only won because of Reagan. They failed with Dole and they failed with McCain. The American people DO NOT WANR RINO'S AND THEY DON'T WANT LIBERALS! because they are one and the same.

IF you want to reverse displeasure..

a) make the tax cuts permanent.
b) Stop spending.
c) Stop undercutting the war, support it and tell constituents the truth
d) Stop kissing up to the damn MSM
e) Start confirming the judges and nuke that damn filibuster.
f) Pass ANWR
g) BORDER SECURITY NOTHING ELSE

These are good STARTS.

If you can't do what you promise, you damn well deserve to lose if Americans decide that's what's needed to get it through RINO thick skulls that we don't want YOUR type of Government. We want CONSERVATISM. Read up on it, learn it, and own it in your souls. Or get the hell out of the way for people that will.

I don't think you're going to see the MSM advocating for a Vice President Rice.

The prospect is too powerful for Republicans, and too damaging to their own goal, which is the continued advancement of Queen Hillary's presidential campaign.

Take off the blinders. Rice is no RINO. She's a darn smart person, a brilliant geopolitical strategist, and an inspiration to millions.

She's be a FABULOUS new face as Vice President.

I hope she's offered the spot. I really do.

It would cement more good things for Republicans and for America, than anything else this poster can imagine.

(what would you suggest, which would be more commanding?)

Take care of Vice President Cheney some way, commensurate with his honorable service and his value. There must be something appropriate - but he's not going to help Republicans win anything. He's a hero, but he's become a liability after the hunting accident thing.

It's the equivalent to W's father upchucking bad sushi on international television, all over the Japanese leader - there are some things politicians just don't bounce back from.

Give him a heroic send-off to something honorable and in keeping with his lifetime of heroic service to our nation. Ambassador to somewhere. Something really rewarding. But get Condoleezza out there in front.

She's one of the strongest Republicans. She was there, when Reagan was negotiating the end of the iron curtain. She's really an incredible person.

Republicans really should be grooming her for the VP spot.

"The last Veep to resign was John C. Calhoun and that was because Jackson had a personal beef with him."

Spiro Agnew resigned under nixon.

Liberals are free with advice to Republicans. I wonder why they have become so conerned with the Republicans well being? It is primarily the liberal media who are trying to drive strong people out of the administration.

Edmonds believes Rumsfeld should go. “The president is loyal to a fault,” he said. “His loyalty shouldn’t be to Rumsfeld but to the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. We need a new, strong face on the war, such as Senator John McCain or Joe Lieberman (the pro-war Democrat senator).”

That should kill any chance of anyone listening to Edmonds.

I think the media believes that if they repeat something often enough it will come true.

They live in a parallel universe devoid of reality.

In a weakened administration, a VP resignation is not good for the party and the country as a whole.

Plus think of the Senate confirmation hearings they would drag on for weeks and probably the orginal candidates would not be confirmed.

Apart from the fact that the President does not want it and I suspect the majority of true Republicans/Conservatives do not.

Won't happen for 2 main reasons IMHO

1) Cheney does not want to go and feels he is in the best place for his country and his President, all the time he feels that he will not resign. He has to resign he is elected. The President could ask him to go but not sack him and the President will not ask him to go because in IMHO he does not want him to go and also it would be seen as disloyalty and GWB value loyalty.

2) Cheney realises even if he wanted to go and IMHO he does not the fall out would be huge and would not only hurt the Bush administration but would hurt the re-election of the Republicans in the House and Senate. The RATS would jump on it saying it shows a divided party and leadership problems.

The third and perhaps the most damaging consideration is confirmation hearings even if the above 2 considerations are ignored.

Think of other recent ones including Rice's own for Secretary of State and John Bolton for UN Ambassador. Again too damaging for the administration and Party.

Also to be considered if Rice does not want to run for President that why would she accept/be pushed into a role which traditionally has been nothing position. Surely she is better off personally and more importantly where she is for her country.

Cheney's Vice Presidency is unique in the advice; some say power he wields; this would not be the same for Rice. For Rice it would be a demotion not promotion.

In conclusion, the President does not want it, Cheney does not want and Rice would not want it.

How could I forget Spro? ;-) Under Nixon and under indictment(almost). In any case, it wasn't voluntary and Nixon didn't put a heavy weight in the position.

Don't feel bad about forgetting that I had to look it up to be sure! Funny that if Agnew held out a while he would have been president.

I think the media believes that if they repeat something often enough it will come true.

So do some people around here.

Cheney will not be replaced by Rice or Powell or Rumsfeild. You would think after almost six years they would realize that.
