Jordan king: Israel must disarm nukes

Abdullah tells Spanish paper El Pais Jordan interested in nuclear-free Middle East, says Israel must disarm its nuclear weapons. If peace is achieved, Israel will not need such arms, King states Dudi Cohen

Jordanian King Abdullah said his country is interested in a nuclear-free Middle East and urged the international community to pressure Israel to dismantle its nuclear arsenal.

"If the world is demanding Iran doesn't develop nuclear weapons it should also demand that countries which possess nuclear weapons disarm," Abdullah said in an interview to Spanish newspaper El Pais. "For peace to be achieved in the region, Israel has to disarm its nuclear weapons."

"If there is peace," Abdullah added, "Israel will not need nuclear weapons. If the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is resolved, the Arab-Israeli conflict will also be resolved." The king also stated that Jordan wishes to see the region free from nuclear arms, and that "many states agree on that."

In February, the United States agreed to Egypt's demand to introduce a clause into the U.N.'s decision on nuclear energy stating that the Middle East should be a "nuclear weapons-free region," a decision which completely contradicts Israel's stance on the issue.

Egypt and other Arab states slammed the criticism directed at Iran over its nuclear program, charging that the world was at the same time turning a blind eye to Israel's nuclear project.

Israeli officials were however unworried about the February decision, and said at the time that "this will have no real impact on Israel, and in any case this is not the first time such a reference appears. The same thing happened when Libya decided to sign the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty."

This is just idiotic.

1. The only resolution the palestinians (and muslims in general) will exist is an end to Israel (or the Zionist Sate and the msulims like to call it) So a "reoslution" doesnt really do Israel much good in that sense.
2. Those nukes are the only reason teh Arabs nations havent gone BACK to war with Israel in the first place. After 1948, 1956, 1960, 1967, 1973 Israel is supposed to what TRUST the arab states to leave them alone.
3. The Arab states wont even recognize Iraels right to exist and yet they are supposed to put down thw one ACE they have in the hole? The one thing that ensures that they will be left (marginally) alone?
4. I notice that he uses the phrasing "If there is peace..." Of course peace in islam means submission to allah. SO what he is really saying is if Israel would just lie down and roll over they wouldnt need nukes..no kidding..they wouldnt exist then so why on earth would they need Nukes.

The whole thing would be laughable if it wasnt so serious. Whats worse is that there are plenty of idiotic lefties who think that plan sounds grand.

"If the world is demanding Iran doesn't develop nuclear weapons it should also demand that countries which possess nuclear weapons disarm,"

This is true, unless you draw a line of distinction between a normal person and the criminally insane. Then you choose who gets to have sharp objects and who doesn't.

"You can trust me, Osama, Yassir, Mohamed, Ahmenijad and all your other arab friends" said King Abdullah. "We always keep our promises and we are perfectly trustworthy", he continued, as tears ran down his face from the supressed laughter he was forced to hold back.

Yes, lots of idiots, just waiting for the opportunity to give peace a chance, waiting to fall in line behind someone, maybe this man, when he tells all the world the solution is total world disarmament - and anyone who won't give peace a chance will be the enemy of the world, such a game of gotcha. I think it will happen, question is - how fast.

Maybe all the world, including the U.S., is already on the same page in regards to who they want disarmed?

Hope not - hope we are playing the right hand and on the right side.

Even President Bush has said before that,"Israel has a right to defend herself." Israel should (NEVER)disarm in order to try to please or appease any nation or leader under the disguise of so-called/pseudo peace. Because that's the only kind of peace the surrounding nations and their deceptive leaders around her are offering. G-d alone is Israel's defense with or without necular power.

Matthew 24:22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved or left upon the earth, but for the elect's sake or (Israel's sake) those days will be shortened.

In Matthew 24:22, Jesus spoke of weapons of mass destruction over 2000 years ago, and this particular time period He is referring is the seven year Tribulation period, which I Believe the Rapture of Christ is right before the Tribulation period, and which could occcur at any time.

Do you agree or do you see it differently Esther Ruth?
