"I caught the anouncement on CNN. My excuse? Liberal spouse had the T/V on. I wonder if it is just me but..... the un- adulterated enthusiam and virtual joy in Wolf Blitzer' voice breeched professional decorum."

You have a liberal spouse too?! My wife had a fun time gloating when Kerry won Maine. But I got the last laugh...hehe.

I have no doubt the MSM jiggers these figures to put Bush in the worst possible light. I also have no doubt that W's numbers ARE heading down and a large part of the reason is that he has largely betrayed his Conservative supporters.

I voted, worked and raised money for him twice but if a pollster asked me and I was answering honestly I'd have to say that I disapprove of his handling of his job.

I disapprove of the massive spending and growth of the government.

I am disappointed at his inability to whip congress into shape and make the tax cuts permanent and cut entitlements.

I disapprove of the massive highway bill, the absurd prescription drug benefit and the horrendous federal intervention ironically known as "No Child Left Behind".

I disapprove of an airport security system that refuses to profile.

I puke every time I here him talk about the "religion of peace".

I disapprove of his failure to fire, apprehend and prosecute traitors in the CIA and state department.

I disapprove of the way he fiddles while Iran builds nukes.

I disapprove of the fact that, with a congressional majority in both houses, we are still not drilling in ANWR. Republicans who fail to tow the line are never made to pay any political price.

I disapprove of the fact that he supports RINOS like Spector and Chaffee against conservative challengers.

I disapprove of the way he threw Katherine Harris overboard here in Florida. His lack of support crippled her candidacy at the starting gate.

I disapprove of the way, after destroying Harris, he was unable to recruit a credible candidate to take on the very beatable Bill Nelson. I disapprove of his failure to take his RINO father to the shed for the reprehensible way he cozies up to the reprobate Clinton and his demonic spouse.

I disapprove of the way he caved in to the Katrina criticism by indiscriminantly throwing away billions of our tax dollars at the problem, with inadequate accountability.

I disapprove of the way he meekly allowed himself to be set up for abuse by attending the funeral of the nobody, Coretta Scott King, whose shameless money grubbing family has done nothing but tarnish her husband's considerable legacy.

I disapprove of his attempt to shove the grossly unqualified Harriet Miers down our throats into a lifetime appointment of transcendent importance.

I disapprove of his tone deaf handling of the ridiculous Dubai ports deal.

I disapprove of his inane proposal to grant amnesty for yet another generation of illegal aliens without regard for the quality of life degradation unfettered immigration causes ordinary Americans in their schools, workplaces and social services system. I disapprove of his complete failure to secure our borders and ports.

To be fair, I like Alito and Roberts so far, and am grateful for the military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. I like that he at least gives lip service to the almighty, to the sanctity of life and to a sane legal definition of marriage (although he rarely DOES anything on these issues - with the exception of the stem cell issue).

There you have it. A candid assessment from a 53 year old lifelong Republican. I have no doubt that John Kerry would have been considerably worse on all these fronts but why must we always choose between bad and worse?
