"Seems to me that it's been a leftist virtue for quite a few years now."

Yes, it has - for about eighty years now. I've just been reading The Venona Secrets. It's a heavy, dry read but I highly recommend it for historical background. The leftist crowd that includes Wilson, Plame, Berger, McCarthy, Goodfellow, Kerry, et. al. can trace their lineage directly to the Red "intellectuals" of the 20s and 30s. For younger Freepers looking to understand the historical context of the current leftist coup attempt I recommend reading

Anyone care to add other recommendations?

I was reading the article in total disbelief that a) I agree with everything Pat says and b) he did not kick Israel in any way. But then at the end he finally did! Otherwise, right on money.

McCarthy allegedly told The Washington Post our NATO allies were secretly letting the CIA operate bases on their soil for the interrogation of terror suspects. Apparently, McCarthy failed several polygraph tests, after which she confessed.

Where did this info come from? Has she been tried and convicted yet? I thought people were innocent until proven guilty.

Thanks for the link. Somebody is lying and somebody leaked classified information. I see a pattern of CIA playing against a sitting President. She is innocent until proven guilty, but I don't like this whole thing at all.

Can it be that Pat has forgotten ... Tyler Kent ... and how he was "silenced" ...?

"April 24, 2006 - A former CIA officer who was sacked last week after allegedly confessing to leaking secrets has denied she was the source of a controversial Washington Post story about alleged CIA secret detention operations in Eastern Europe, a friend of the operative told NEWSWEEK."

These were not legal proceedings per se, merely internal CIA investigation. She's been fired yes, but she has not been charged or indicted (yet).

I believe just the opposite, the Pulitzer has great meaning. One instantly knows which side of the coin the recipiant belongs on. I was in Atlanta the other day when a cartoonist from the Atlanta constipation received another one. One of the cartoons was the word "WHY" drawn using the names of our heroes in Iraq who gave the last full measure of their devotion, so this leftist, pacifist, communist, peacenik anti-war prick could ask why, and be rewarded. The shame of it all. By accepting the award, he is on my list of worthless sub-humanity. A dog has more sense.

I think Free Republic was show prep for Rush and column prep for Pat.

Pat's piece is mostly taken right off the forum Saturday. He provided nothing remotely fresh

A comment, not an addition to your excellent reading list: I think there's gonna be a new definition for the word, "McCarthyism."

A good point about the Pulitzer...I get so sick of these lamoids patting each other and themselves on the back.

Hah! The Al Jazeera" Constitution, as the Kimmer calls it?
