Alas, I am too selfish to be deprived of Brit's attempts to educate Juan Williams in the ways of the world - now that's comic genius!

LOL. I enjoy that too. Sunday I was downstairs at my parents' house, and I heard my dad upstairs yelling, "You're stupid! You cannot really be THAT stupid, can you?"

I went upstairs to find out what was going on, and found my dad yelling at Juan Williams on Fox News Sunday. I just laughed and said, "Poor, dumb Juan."

You misunderstand. Tony Snow will kill them with kindness, which is the perfect way to deal with the jackals in the WH Press Corps. It would be a mistake to have someone who would be rude and confrontational.

Snow will keep them on their toes, and he'll do it with charm and dignity.

I think you nailed it. Tony is the epitome of suave. I suspect Tony will remain one step ahead of the WH press corps, out-thinking them at every turn. Charm, dignity, persuasiveness, and sound reasoning are powerful weapons. Tony is gifted with all of those.

Tony--we are very proud of you here. You will do a terrific job as WH Press Secretary.

Please do not suffer fools gladly. If fools like Helen Thomas and David Gregory get stuck on stupid, we expect a quick retort and the yanking of press passes.

A measure of decorum needs to return to these sessions, rather than the piranha-like feeding frenzy that has been allowed to become commonplace.

You are someone with the cranial acuity to slice and dice the press dummies, ala Don Rumsfeld. Please protect the Office of the Presidency by demanding respect and controlling the session. The press people are reporters--just reporters-- and not there to pontificate or to inject their view on policy matters.

May the Lord protect you. You are the right man in the right place at the right time. You have been preserved for such a time as this.

And we wish all of the best.

Just once I would love to hear this exchange.

Press Corp Critic: "Tony, sources are telling us the present has given up hope on winning the war in Iraq and is desparately seeking ways to end this and still keep the military industrial complex which he is personally benefitting from collapsing"

Tony: "What sources, ...did you just make that up?"

PCC: "No"

Tony: "Then tell me who these sources are"

PCC: "No"

Tony: "Then I don't believe you. Sit down"

slight pause

Tony: "Who here has a real question not based on lies and personal hatered for this president and his administration"

PCC: " " (eyes darting around the room, shrugging shoulders)

Tony: "Yes Brett go ahead."

Re#165 Understood. When Tony gave up his account, a search shows "banned or suspended". It was poor wording. Go Tony!

Is there still a way to email Tony with a suggestion?

Basically I'd like to see the White House make much better use of the internet. Make all GWB speeches available as live streaming video/podcasts on the White House website.(where it can't be filtered by the Drive-By Media) Maybe there could be a 'White House Media Center' app; something similar to what Rush 24-7 offers. Dubya needs to go directly to the American people as much as possible. Preferably in settings where he can be the relaxed, likeable guy we know he really is.

I keep thinking of what Jeff Goldblum's character said in the movie 'Independence Day': "If we can't go through their defenses, we have to go around them."
