First off, I'd like to personally thank Alan Colmes for converting me to conservatism. Barry Farber and Alan had a show called "From left to right" on KOGO in San Diego in the mid-90s.

It was here I discovered political debate and my interest in it. Alan would passionately make a non-sensical response to one of Barry positions and Barry would follow up with an "Oh Alan" like a father frustrated with his teenage know-it-all son. After hearing this dialog continually repeat itself, I discovered the left posed arguments that flew in the face of rational thought (self preservation being high on that list).

Thus I discovered my thoughts and opinions aligned with the right.

It took a few years of active political debate on my part (via Fox News BBS before it was pulled down around in 1998) to further discover "Liberals Lie About Everything All the Time" - Eddie01 circa 1997

Having spent so much time debating liberals directly and having been facinated by the mental lock they employ to avoid inconvenient facts while claiming to be of superior intellect, it finally dawned on me what was going on.

Yes. I am claiming to understand how a liberal becomes a liberal and why they continue to be liberal even when the experience of life itself would cause any rational human being to drift away from such self-defeating and self-destuctive behavior.

I'll be brief.

It begins with the basic human need to be accepted. Group affiliation to some becomes more powerful than self-preservation. This weakness in human nature is what liberal's exploit to recruit and retain membership in a group set and bound by chartered behavioral dysfunction.

The earlier liberalism can locate and affiliate the unsuspecting, the bigger the voting block. This is why liberalism is a natural in academia at all levels; a near perfect access point where indoctrination can continue unchallenged by those outside the classroom and students must accept what they are told under the threat of academic punishment.

As I see it there are two classifications of Liberals: Charlatans and Dupes. There is an established system of manipulation based on some simple rules cast here as The Left's Eight Commandments

Thou shalt create an illusion of invulnerability shared by most members to foster excessive optimism and encourage extreme risks taking

II
Thou shall not allow any member to question the group's inherent morality, instead members shall be encouraged to ignore the ethical or moral consequences of their decisions

III
Thou shalt promote collective efforts to rationalize in order to discount warnings, or other information that might lead members to reconsider their assumptions before they recommit themselves to their assumptions

IV
Thou shalt reinforce stereotyped views of enemy leaders as too evil to warrant genuine attempts to negotiate, or as too weak and stupid to counter whatever risky attempts are made to defeat their purpose

V
Thou shalt self-censor any deviation from the apparent group consensus, inclining each member to minimize the importance of their doubts and counterarguments

VI
Thou shalt create and maintain a shared illusion of unanimity concerning judgement conforming to the majority view

VII
Thou shalt apply direct pressure on any member who expresses strong arguments against any of the group's stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, making clear that this type of dissent is contrary to what is expected of all loyal members

Thou shalt appoint mindguards to protect the group from adverse information that might shatter their shared complacency about the effectiveness and morality of their decisions

How does the MSM play into this? They broadcast the manipulation. The MSM is the marketing arm of the DNC; a group of ad copy writers and spokespersons posing as credentialed journalists. This is why the left gives out "prestigious" awards to unqualified recipients. The awards have no real meaning other than to acknowledge the recipient's loyalty to the group in terms of effective false ad copy. The awards are, in effect, medals of dishonesty which ordinary American's unknowingly assign credibility to.

Another tactic used by the Charlatan class liberal is the use of "projection"; that is stating your enemy possesses the unflattering traits which you in fact possess. Because the Charlatans have fostered a strict environment where questioning majority view brings high penalty, the dupes just accept and repeat what they are told.

Everything the left does aligns with their Eight Commandments.

Today, groups whose cause runs counter to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness define the Democrat base. Democrat politicians are caught now between direct acknowledgement of their base organizations through public statements and American's shift to the right propelled by the truth getting out via alternative media.

The Dan Rather attempt to bring down Bush was as clear an example of liberal audacity and desparation as I have ever witnessed. But in the eyes of liberals everywhere, Dan Rather is a hero. Even nuttier that that, Mary Mapes believes she is innocent (what a dupe).

There is no disgrace in the eyes of liberals. The ends justify the means at all costs.
