Secretary Of State Rice Arrives In Iraq

(Baghdad) -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has made an unscheduled visit to Iraq. Her arrival in Baghdad today followed Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's trip to the Iraqi capital in a show of support for the country's new leadership. Rice arrived on a military plane from Turkey, breaking off from a tour of several European countries.

Yes. Something's up. And this is good.

They going to tell these Iraqiis that it's time for them to step up -- aka as "get off the pot".

And It Is. We are not going to be there forever, and the day we leave is a lot closer than the day we arrived. They better be ready to do somethng more in their parliment than discuss Moslem theology and argue about exactly how many virgins they DO get when they die.

They've got to start running Iraq.

Yep. Tony Snow is in da house. Here's how AP opened their story:

"BAGHDAD, Iraq - President Bush dispatched America's top two foreign policy officials to Iraq on Wednesday in separate, surprise missions calculated to demonstrate a strong show of support for the country's emerging new government."

When is the last time you heard the AP write anything positive about President Bush, Rice, Rumsfeld, or Iraq? I gotta think Tony Snow is already working.

Tony announced (and looking good!) as the New Press Secretary, with Rummy & Condi both making trips to Iraq.

I think I'm liking the shakeup in the W.H. so far with these two moves.

Tony's appointment for obvious reasons.

The two joint surprising trips? because it forces the MSM to report the advance in their government, as well as breaks up the monotony of single surprise visits. Both of them doing this at the same time is unusual and will momentarily cause people to pay attention.
