The calendar says it's April 25, 2006. At noon, my wife, Peggy, and I are walking around Battery Park--near the Tribeca area--in New York. It is our first time. The flowers are blooming; kids are fishing; people boarding the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Kids are laughing and noisy. The sun is shining. The vendors are hawking T-shirts, pretzels and some "designer" wares. And just up the street there is a hole in the skyline and in the ground.

Fast forward--it is 10:30 p.m., April 25. We have just seen a movie premiere at the fifth annual Tribeca Film Festival. A film festival that has done so much to energize and revitalize the city, its people and especially the area that has that hole in the skyline and in the ground. This year the movie that had its worldwide premiere at the festival is titled "United 93." It is about the day when the hole in the skyline of New York was made--the day when a hole was made in the side of the Pentagon near Washington, D.C.--the day when a hole was made in a quiet mountain meadow in Pennsylvania. The day that our nation was attacked; the day when the war came home--Sept. 11, 2001. The day our son Todd boarded United 93.

May the taste of freedom for people of the Middle East hasten victory. The enemy we face does not have the word "surrender" in their dictionary. We must not have the word "retreat" in ours. We surely want our troops home as soon as possible. That said, they cannot come home in retreat. They must come home victoriously. Pray for them.

Sad day. Will "Praise Allah" be mentioned in the movie or will we have to guess who the bad guys are?
Heard Rush say go see the movie. You will know who the bad guys are.
Bless this family that gave their son the character he displayed on this fateful day.
I have not seen the movie yet but I will.
Whether one goes in to see the movie or not, one MUST buy a ticket in support. I will buy the DVD, but will also buy a ticket to see it..., whether I go into the theater or not.
This movie needs to be a success so that MILLIONS of Americans are reminded daily for weeks about WHO we are at WAR with, and WHY we are at WAR with them (and they are EVIL)!

For me, going to movies anymore is a rare occassion, but I do plan to see this one.
Rush mentioned that there was originally some sort of rather PC text addendum during the credits, but he also mentioned that it was taken out.
Apart from that studio-addendum, it sounds like the film is everything we would want.
I am incredibly proud of Todd Beamer and those others who fought and died with him. Beamer made the phone call, and so his name is known, and the others remain anonymous, but equally heroic.
It is one thing,to fight and die for your country in the military -- A Great Thing. At the same time however, in the military there is training and preparation to fight. There are tools and comaradary. There are leaders to give direction.
The men {and women?} on that flight had to summon up courage on their own, and then step forward to fight, knowing perhaps that they would die. Frankly I wonder sometimes if I would have had such courage, but hope and pray that I would.
I am so glad the movie has been made. Overdue.
I bet it's put back in for overseas markets.

Thank you for showing me the way out of my personal conflict about this film.
The events were too close and immediate for me and my family (wife, son and two brothers all seperately either inside or within blocks of the Trade Center - a dozen of the dead known to me - my own time at GZ on the 12th and 13th) for me to safely see this. But, I do want to support it as a poke in the eye of those who want us to either forget or revise that day.

Glenn Beck said to see the movie. That it was really good. He couldn't keep his composure when talking about it, struggling not to weep.
Millions of Americans that are asleep at the wheel need to be reminded who the enemy is and, that President Bill Clinton, his "evil" wife and the entire Democrat "Traitor/Treason" Party is directly responsible for the murder of the American heroes that perished on United, Flight 93, and all who died on 911. Clinton knew the problem very well, and did absolutely nothing to protect America or innocent Americans. End of story!!! I hope the movie does exceedingly well. All Americans should see this movie. But for the grace of the Lord, it might have been you or your children sitting on Flight 93!!! America you better wake up, the Democrat Party will destroy America!!!!
Hollywood? No. The director of this film, yes. I've not seen it, but I read an interview with the director, and press pieces about how the FAA air-traffic director ended up playing himself. The director 'gets it' and cares.
Also one phone call? The families of the heroes of Flight 93 got to hear the cockpit voice recorders, and surely have compared notes with everyone else on the ground who spoke with the passengers (the Discovery Channel did a nice documentary piece--there were a fair number of cell phone calls between Flight 93 and various folks on the ground).
I heard on the radio from Glenn Beck and Michael Smerconish that the text was at the end-credits and read something to the affect of- "And So America's War On Terror Had Begun".
Smerconish was a little put off that the text was taken out.
