He's the greatest. I was glad when he reversed himself in 1998 and continued on, and I wish he would do it again -- reverse himself, that is. But, I doubt we'll be that fortunate.
Jackson brought his own unmistakeable, classy style to every observation he made. He's a pure pro, and a decent man through and through.

Milo Hamilton must be getting way up in years. I had a 1962 baseball yearbook that had a feature on each team's announcer, and I think Hamilton was already a veteran broadcaster way back then. He's the Paul Harvey of sports announcers.

One notable exception was the 2002 Fiesta Bowl between Ohio State and Miami. That one was a barn burner!

Economakis father was a Greek immigrant and his mother a great-niece of Robert E. Lee. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and grew up in Ridgewood, N.J. He and his late wife, Tommye, have two daughtersCorinne and Tinaand two grandchildren.

WHOA, NELLIE!
OK, got that out of the way. What a sad day.
With Brent Musberger, you usually get Gary Danielson (my student teacher in 8th grade PE). And with Brad Nessler, you get Bob Griese.

He should have fully retired after the 1999 Fiesta Bowl.

So maybe Ohio State will begin to get the respect they deserve from Jackson's replacement......... And I have always heard a very distinct Anti-USC bias in this old codger. Wonder what he would do in a USC vs. Ohio State game?
