-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thursday April 27, 2006--Thirty-eight percent (38%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. That's the lowest level of support ever measured by Rasmussen Reports.
Sixty-one percent (61%) disapprove, including 45% who Strongly Disapprove. One additional sign of the President's weakness is that Democrats lead by twelve percentage points on a generic 2008 Presidential Ballot.

Obligatory "well-that-seals-it-I'm-not-voting-for-him-again" post.
=)
Oh yeah...blah, blah, blah something about borders and immigrants.
Thanks for posting the article, however.
Frankly I am surprised it is that high. Given El Jefe's rabid pursuit of amnesty for illegals, and no hard effort to close our border with Mexico...he is singing his swan song with this issue alone.
it is what it is
One of my liberal co-workers gleefully emailed this today. She never did when the numbers were higher though..
Its his own fault. I still would vote for him over Kerry.I'll tell you this though,no matter what I'm not voting for him again. EVER!
Wow. 38%. But do you think that the media will point out that it's going up? Not likely.
Not great numbers, but what does "somewhat disaprove" mean? I would vote for Bush again against any democrat if I had to. But I "somewhat disapprove" of the job he is doing. I think he fails to support his policies well enough, I disagree on immigration. So these results may be historically poor, but can't be interpreted to mean, for example, that I would support abandoning Iraq.
rasmussen it is going down and they will point that out
I find it hard to believe that he'd be at 38% if you polled only Republicans at this moment.
No amnesty, no guest-worker program, no path, road, highway, two-track, interstate, trail, etc. to citizenship for law-breakers.
I don't think the "Fuel cell" idea caught on too well.
All this poll is going to do is drive my blood pressure higher for the '06 House races. If the Dems win control, I fear they may try to impeach President Bush on faux charges.
She never did when the numbers were higher though..

Of course, the libs are truly happy, since their entire existence is focused to bash Bush. At the same time, much of his downside in popularity has been created by himself. Especially the part of his downside from true Conservatives, who he has basically stabbed in the back.
No need to go into details -- we know what they are.
The immigration issue is killing him. And if you read the whole article, there is a section about the dem candidates all leading. Steele is losing by 10%, Casey is leading big, W's stance is not helping for '06..
It doesn't matter. As my daughter likes to point out, both Hitler and Saddam had almost 100% approval ratings. Ergo, President Bush is the most un-Hitler president. That is our story and we are sticking to it.
(Kudos to Steve Colbert for pointing that out first.)
Anyone who lives and dies by daily polls is an idjit!
Yeah, if Rasmussen is saying 38%, then that's something to worry about. If this was coming from the media outlets, I'd dismiss it. But Rasmussen does his polls right so this is a credible number.
But it's all largely due to gas prices as the simpleton American public believes a president wields god-like power over everything that goes on in America. They seem to have the idea that we have a command and control economy here in the US.
Hopefully, Tony Snow runs over to the President, pays the obligatory respects, says that he knows he is just the press secretary and all, but he has just come from the outside world and, Mr. President, WTF are you thinking on immigration? Have you lost your mind trying to pronounce nuclear properly. Hello, Hello?
I placed a $100 bet that George Bush's RealClearPolitics approval rating would be below 39% on April 30. I'd have bet $1000 if I could, but 100 was the max. Nice way to land an easy 70 bucks.
"If the Dems win control, I fear they may try to impeach President Bush on faux charges."
no need to fear it for it WILL happen
