Serbian cops drop a bomb

Serbian police have admitted they may have accidentally put an explosive device on a plane to London.

It happened after an exercise to test sniffer dogs at Surcin airport in Belgrade went wrong, local daily Blic reported.

Officers had put explosives into luggage destined for Heathrow airport, as well as Paris, Milan, and Athens, and let sniffer dogs loose to find them.

Explosive without fuse and detonator is not a 'bomb'.

As always, you have to filter out the idiocy that passes for journalism these days. My all-time favorite happened several months after the Oklahoma City bombing when law enforcement officers raided a farm owned by a "milita member" and, as the reporters breathlessly reported, found "bomb-making components!"

Weeks later, it was revealed that the cops had indded found diesel fuel and fertilizer (imagine finding that on a farm) but no evidence of any illegal activity.
