Boy Scouts eligible for Brown County United Way funding

The Green Bay Press Gazette is reporting that their local United Way has changed their non-discrimination policy to simply require that all agencies must conform to all non-discrimination laws. Since the BSA's right to do what they do has been upheld in the Supreme Court, the local Council can now apply for funds. See this link for details.

Nice to see some common sense from a United Way chapter.

Boy Scouts is a great thing to be a part of. I was one when I was younger and some of my best memories come from summer camp and bass fishing trips. I encourage all fathers to try to get thier sons involved with the scouts.

Send money to the ones you like directly.
Do not let the United Way skim the money.
If you support the good ones but send money through the UW, they will just put less money to the ones you like and give others money to the bad ones.

Nah, United Way is a pretty good org. They look at the entire community they work in and fund the best. It's sort of like investing in a mutual fund, imho. Unless you have the time to watch where your money is going (in other words, you're retired) it makes more sense to give $$$ to the experts.

I've given $1000 the last three years, but don't ask for placement on any of their lists. That's not the point. The idea is that my community gets stronger, which is good for my business...

This is a good start.

However, I will continue to withhold United Way contributions until the entire organization follows suit. Instead my contributions have been going to my church, which suports the community without bending to the homosexual agenda.

EXPERT break it down.
Ex = has been
spurt = drip under pressure.
I do not need a has been drip under pressure "expert" to tell me how I should donate my money.
So drink your united way koolaid.

TOTAL BS, 90% of united way members should removed.

I have refused to donate to United Way since I learned their CEO makes over half a million a year. I don't trust any charitable organization with an employee making that much from the monies people donate. I'll stick with the Church, Salvation army and the many smaller groups who solicit for a specific purpose. (ie. everything from school bake sales to blood drives to walk-a-thons for breast cancer.)

Donate directly to the BSA. The United Way has shown their true colors (bigotry) to the BSA all too often in many areas across the US.

They called me up a few weeks ago and asked me to take a survey. I lit them up!
