But electing a septuagenarian for a first term, is a bit different than reelecting one, with an awesome record of success, as Reagan had in his first term, which sealed his legacy as a top tier president, even among many liberal historians, however much they hate that. Plus Reagan had as his opponent, for his second term, Mondale. You member him don't you? What did he have to really offer, to enhance the public square, and the American experiment?
