It takes a lot of devotion, time, and work to become a physician. It's hard not to suspect incompetence of anyone who--such as Frist or Dean--who walks away from such a hard-won career. I can't help but wonder how many patients lives have been spared because Frist and Dean chose to dabble in politics.
