>>The same culprit.....the American consumer!<<

In an episode of Southpark the people burned down the Walmart. Another stored cahnged overnight into a new Walmart and the people realized they were the ones creating Walmart in the first place.

Kids don't do chores because they don't have that motivation that some of us had when we were kids: FEAR of our parents.

Exactly, my Dad never asked me to do any of my chores. He told me, and I did them or else I faced the consequences.

Don't worry, when the Muslims and the Mexican illegals take over, all Gringo kids will be dealt with post haste.

why should kids have fear of parents? Kids should be kids and not required to do manual labor because parents are either to lazy to do it them self or to lazy to hire outside help

Some kids have fear of their parents because they face consequences to their actions or in the case of not doing chores, inactions.

Kids can be kids and still do some work to contribute around the house. It's a good habit to start early in life. It's good for them to have some responsibility, age dependent of course and that we hope leads to them eventually being responsible when they get older.

It's not a matter of parents being lazy (in some cases it may be tho). Parents work outside and inside the home in many cases. There's always something to be done in the home. If the parents always go around picking up after their kids, the kids will be the ones to become lazy and dependent.

Our discourse was not about whether or not there was anything wrong with having a maid. It was about kids doing chores.

I know a lot of people including me that have a maid

Good for you.
