PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: President and Mrs. Bush attended St. John's Church this morning, as is their custom when spending the weekend at the White House. Last night they attended the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner, where the President and his "alter ego," comedian Steve Bridges, stole the show.

That's not the way it looked to me. Looked like his alter ego said it. Somebody wrote that George's lips moved in sync with Steve's so it looked like he might have been saying it right along with Steve. Frankly, if that happened, I did not catch it.
George did look like he knew it was coming and sort of reacted to it as if HE HIMSELF had said it. But that was facial expression, body language, etc. only, as far as I could tell. Maybe I blinked and missed what they are talking about. If so, I can't imagine It.

Enjoy! The whole bit was hilarious. Our President is a natural comedian, and this is the best I've seen him do.
I did look at a broadcast replay of it. Like I said, if he did it I must have blinked. Even so, I could see he was fully "into" the moment by all the other actions I mentioned. Cannot look at a tape to see it again, ohio. Don't have the technological ability with my webtv.

Someone put up a link to the WHC dinner video and the person I thought I was talking to said he had not watched it.
I suggested he watch it and see what Colbert did to the President and First Lady last night.

Then I played it for Mr Oh, and he saw it too.
It was the only time he didn't just stand their with that little grin on his face. Good stuff!

The passengers on Fl 93 are true heroes. They prevented the cowardly terrorists from accomplishing their evil goal.
While watching Fl 93, I kept shaking my head at what seemed to be incompetence of people on the ground. Then I thought maybe people were just so incredulous at what was happening...they couldn't believe something like planes intentionally flying into our buildings would really happen to us. They seemed to become emotionally (and intellectually) "paralyzed" for a bit. The air traffic control people saying....'.hijacking??? we haven't had a hijacking in 20 years.....let me know when you have more info..'.
This is just my perception and, surely, not intended to criticize these people, but it made me think......... are we now awake? Would communications between air traffic control, FAA, military, local authorities now be MUCH more open, faster and effective? Troubling thoughts.
RE: Estate Taxes......I'm working on an Initiative (I-920) here in Washington, the State, to REPEAL our STATE Estate Tax that was re-instituted last year, after an about 25 year hiatus.....Remember, Bill Gates, Sr. and Warren Buffet are both FOR the Estate Tax.....course, all their money is tied up in Foundations, and the Gates family hires family and friends for their Foundation. THEY will Pay LITTLE TO NOTHING in Estate Taxes, but the small biz owners (many now women and minorities) who are just starting to build asset bases etc....are the ones who will get hit the most.
What the President himself said, would be difficult to spell. :)

There was a neanderthal on another thread who said the President was "undignified" last night. Of course, he is a basher extroidinaire... But then I read an earlier one who bashed him for "partying with the media when instead he should be throwing half of them in jail for treason".
Tell me, ohio, what is this place, and our country coming to? Is it partly the internet, which allows for this anonymous hit and run bashing that is so petty, so juvenile, so uncouth, so destructive, without any consequence?
I know, you say most of them are trolls, or never supported this President.
I'm just looking at the behaviour, regardless of motive.
