That is the bottom line. Watching in hindsight, it's tempting to say "why weren't the fighter jets moving sooner" or some such, but I don't think the answer is incompetence, it's because Americans do NOT imagine such inhumanity before we're exposed to it, and even after (which could be why some seem to have "forgotten" 9/11).
Anyway, thanks... I had promised another FReeper a review but I didn't really want know what to say; however once I started typing, it flowed.
The passengers on Fl 93 are true heroes. They prevented the cowardly terrorists from accomplishing their evil goal.
While watching Fl 93, I kept shaking my head at what seemed to be incompetence of people on the ground. Then I thought maybe people were just so incredulous at what was happening...they couldn't believe something like planes intentionally flying into our buildings would really happen to us. They seemed to become emotionally (and intellectually) "paralyzed" for a bit. The air traffic control people saying....'.hijacking??? we haven't had a hijacking in 20 years.....let me know when you have more info..'.
This is just my perception and, surely, not intended to criticize these people, but it made me think......... are we now awake? Would communications between air traffic control, FAA, military, local authorities now be MUCH more open, faster and effective? Troubling thoughts.
