I live and work in the Poughkeepsie NY area and nearly ALL of the Mexican/Central American restaurants and businesses will be closed. So that's it for me, if I want Mexican food I'll settle for Taco Bell. Actually, I have boycotting my favorite Mexican restaurant for 2 years, ever since one of the workers, an old geezer, tried to follow my daughter into the bathroom, which was in the back of the restaurant, and the owners refused to do anything about it. I have a friend who runs a construction crew here in Sarasota. The last time there was a similar reason to skip work one day (a Monday) for political purposes, on Tuesday the big boss told all those Mexicans who'd been absent the previous day that they should also take Tuesday off without pay and the next time they tried that stuff, they'd lose their jobs.
They all showed up for work on May 1, not smiling but ready to work.
