I loved Regan!! He had a vision for this country.
I feel the same way about George W. Bush. Both have faults in their policy, but they put their faith in the American people.

Just by him being in office we could know that God's providence was over us, and God's hand was in action in directing our country by the instrument of Ronald Reagan.
When ungodliness, liberalism, communism, wickedness is what the people want, then God allows the leader that they deserve ( Jimma Carter ).

My Father, a lifelong Democrat, voted for Reagan and never looked back. Today he is solidly anti-democrat.

Well, there was a lot to like. At a time when I was being swayed by lefties around me, he just made sense. I attribute my conservatism, or conservative renewal, to him (- oh, and my mom).

But I always got a kick out of the way Reagan conducted himself. Always the gentleman, that great voice. He would watch and wait patiently while the media darlings would ask him some rambling pointless question designed, so they thought, to make him look stupid, but he would, with all his class and gentlemanly behavior, just shoot them a look that let them know what idiots they were, while politely and succinctly answering and reversing their remarks. A few withered under that gaze. Few didn't.

Richard, I'm a blubbering heap...again.

There will never be another man like this God-given giant.

I really didn't like the amnesty in 86. Other than that I thought the man was a certified genius.

Ronald Reagan was the embodiment of conservatism. He hated large, intrusive government. He hated communism. He believed in America and its strength, fundamental goodness and destiny for victory. He was a persuasive, determined, God-fearing and optimistic leader.

Unfortunately, he had to work with a Democrat majority in congress, so some of his beliefs and goals were thwarted along the way.

But the biggie, the Cold War, he won. He won it decisively. Communists just didn't know what to do with a leader bent on victory rather than containment. He placed the best and brightest of the American people, our resolve, our determination and our economy, up against the communist machine, and they crumbled into dust.

If you want to know about Ronald Reagan, you should watch the movie, In the Face of Evil. That will give you many valuable insights into his golden character and brilliant leadership.

Here's my strategy on the Cold War: We win, they lose."
- Ronald Reagan
That should be our strategy against terrorists and their liberal allies here in the U.S.
Reagan was a true leader, and knew how to persuade people who disagreed with him. He didn't feel any need to apologize for being a political conservative. Another favorite quote (not exact, but close): "It isn't that liberals are ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't true."
Another: "It's funny how all those in favor of abortion have already been born."
"Make my day." :)
