And now add the fine restaurants in the Cajun state to that list.

Not yet. The article states the bill passed in the Senate - I saw nothing about the House, and also needs the governor's signature.

You are correct on this one. I do believe the Louisiana representatives and Governor Blancho will act to protect the quality of air for the residents.

Congratulations Louisiana!

We did it! Governor Blanco signed the Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act (SB 742) into law this morning. Senator Marionneaux, the Louisiana Legislature and the Governor deserve to be commended for their noble effort to take a stand in support of public health in Louisiana.

A special thanks goes to our partners at the Office of Public Health Louisiana Tobacco Control Program, American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, American Heart Association, coalition members and community advocates for all of their hard work and collaboration. We are rebuilding a stronger, healthier Louisiana and look forward to a healthy future of a 100% smoke-free state.

We urge everyone to write and submit letters to the editor of your local newspapers thanking Senator Marionneaux, the Legislature and Governor Blanco for protecting the health of Louisiana's citizens, and we request that you email the Governor with a word of thanks.

Together, we're clearing the air!
