I doubly don't see this as any kind of a "premonition". They didn't die. It was their son. They were wrong and so is what they are trying to do here ... .

both Deena and Thomas supposedly had premonitions about Thomas' death

I don't know what you're talking about. They didn't have a son. It was the husband who died - just like he thought he would.
