Yes, I do and they were; some still are.
And what this article left out ( amongst other things ), is that the "famous" picture of the girl wailing over the body of a "fallen student 'hero" ", was a FOURTEEN YEAR OLD wannabe hippie/"revolutionary", who most assuredly was NOT a student at Kent State at all! Yet, what was the huge headline, that all of the MSM ran at the time? Why, it was that the girl was an "innocent" college student, who was traumatized by the brutality of the National Guard.
A quasi correction appeared in the N.Y. Times many months later, buried on the last page of the real estate section, or perhaps the Arts & Leisure section.

"The answer is that they were under fire by a sniper."
No doubt the same guy that was on the grassy knoll. B.S. meter is pegged.

"But, please, give greater thanks to our brave young soldiers who risk far more than that which is already behind me."
You are quite a gentleman.

Then your BS meter is on the fritz!
How old were you, when this took place?

I didn't like these people then and like them even less today. THESE PEOPLE are now in a postion to run this country. They already control the colleges they tried to burn down. And NO dissent is permitted. Now they want to control our Federal government at all levels and I believe want to "tear this country down and rebuild it our way." Although that may not happen, I think they are closer to that goal than we may think. Look at the culture. Look at the hate toward the President, toward decent people who believe in God, look at the outright lies they use to gain the upper hand. To disagree is perfectly fine, let's just use some facts, FACTS to support those arguments. Not outright lies.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek about Wiki. Wiki has ZERO credibility on anything political.

Well lets see what one of the actual Guardsman had to say.
"I didn't want to shoot anybody that day,... But that's what we were trained to do. We should never have been on that campus."

Even if there was no sniper; they acted properly. In fact, they restrained themselves too much. I feel they should have killed all the bastards attacking them, plus the agitadors; and I make no apologies.

Thanks for this post.
I'm ashamed to say that all I knew about Kent State, I learned from a Neil Young song.
To: ndt
Which hardly disproves what I posted. Why does :"
I didn't want to shoot that day...But that's what we were trained to do. We should never have been on that campus." countermand the fact that the Guardsmen WERE attacked and shot back? As to the last bit "
WE NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE THAT DAY."......that's utter PC drivel; not to mention ridiculous codswallop...in spades!
As it happens, I was an adult at that time. Even though the damned MSM worked it's usual WHITEWASH "magic" on these events, it WAS pretty much all shown on T.V.; as car chases are today. And no matter how they all tried to cover up what what was/had gone on at Kent State, dribs and drabs of factual truth DID get out to the general public.
And BTW, you haven't answered my query. You don't have to tell me your exact age, but were you over the age of 23, on that date?

"Even if there was no sniper; they acted properly."
My point was that you don't need conspiracy theories to explain that day. The military are to trained to kill, sometimes it needs to be done and they do it well. If you use the military for what is a police action these things will happen. We can debate the need for and wisdom of using military forces for police work, but that is for another thread.
The "sniper theory" has as much evidence as the guy on the grassy knoll. When someone can present any evidence whatsoever, I'll listen. The truth however is usually the simplest. If you charge at the military they will shoot you and they will do it well.

No, of course he didn't. As with all of the other garbage he and Abbie Hoffman and the rest of that ilk spewed, it was all just rhetoric for the stupid masses. After all, that "DON'T TRUST ANYONE OVER THIRTY", was thought up and regurgitated by the Commie pied pipers of hate...men,well over thirty years old!

Show me the evidence. photos, bullet casing, leads that went anywhere, anything. (crickets...)

Just admit it...you didn't actually read the article. The "proof" that you ask for, is in it!
The local police could NOT handle what was going on at Kent State, which is WHY the Governor of Ohio called out the National Guard.
Good grief, don't you know anything FACTUAL about this happenstance?

READ THE ARTICLE; READ IT IN ITS ENTIRITY!

"READ THE ARTICLE; READ IT IN ITS ENTIRITY!"
I did, and I've read other articles arguing the same thing. They all have one thing in common. They list mountains of evidence that all seems to mysteriously disappear or was somehow overlooked by the HUNDREDS of trained professionals who combed over the details of the case. The hallmark of all bogus conspiracy stories.
