Comments welcome. Fortunately for Kennedy it's also being reported CIA Director Porter Goss is resigning so his story will get buried quickly.

Was waiting for this shoe to drop when he admitted to driving under the influence of medication. (Less stigma than booze. Especially since he claims he already addressed that one.)
The re-hab anouncement is always used as cover and will allow them to squash the inquiry into the preferential treatment he received, as well as the fact that he was, no doubt, out boozing it up prior to the accident.
He'll do a two-week stint in re-hab and be back at the bar before you can say "Chappaquiddick".

Okay, can we rip this guy and call him a filthy drug addict the way that they did to Rush Limbaugh? Can we strip him of all credibility and demand he be persecuted and prosecuted? Can we have a SNL skit where he's drunk and running over Will Ferrell?

Yahoo news is reporting he's gonna go to a drug rehab joint--
WASHINGTON - Rep. Patrick Kennedy (news, bio, voting record) said Friday he was entering treatment for addiction to prescription pain medication, a decision made after a highly publicized car crash near the Capitol that the congressman said he cannot recall.
Kennedy, D-R.I., said he would seek immediate treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

There's one thing I don't understand in all this. He just admitted driving under the influence. It doesn't matter whether he had anything to drink. Therefore, any investigation into bar tabs is irrelevant. Why is he not being arrested at this very moment? Oh yeah, that's right. He's royalty.

Which came first the booze or the drug? He's just another Kennedy Liberal POS!

In the article he states:
The younger scion of America's most storied and star-crossed political dynasty has battled his own demons. He admitted in 2000 that he was a mental health advocate because he had wrestled with depression since he was a teenager - and that led him to abuse cocaine. If it was anybody else, he'd be serving time. But he's a Kennedy.
