About Guevara, Garcia says, "Che has been romanticized over the years, but there is a darker side to his story. People wear his T-shirt like pop art. They don't know who he is. He looks like a rock star, but he executed a lot of people without trial or defense" ....

I love Andy Garcia as long as they STOP TRYING TO CAST HIM AS AN ITALIAN! Good God, when I saw him in Godfather III I wanted to take my own eyes out with a grapefruit spoon.
That said, I thought "Things to do In Denver" and that Arturo Sandoval movie he did for HBO ruled.

Gee, what's the left going to do? A Hollywood star ripping Che? What should they do with the Che t-shirts? So many decisions for the stars to make!

Garcia's acting ws the only high point of that film for me. Sophia Coppola was pathetic, and Al Pacino has become a Shatneresque parody of himself. Andy was cool, though.

"Selling a Cuban story to Hollywood wasn't easy." No, selling an anti-Castro story to Hollywood wasn't easy. A film showing the commie regime as a "paradise" (as braindead leftist Jack Nicholson called it) would've sold without delay.

I like Andy Garcia except I feel like he's choking when he delivers his lines.
This movie looks very worth seeing.

You are kidding me! Wynona still owes me $7.50 and two hours of my life for sitting through the horrendous Reality Bites.

I'm not really remarking on his acting, just that he's not Italian. Cast Italians as Italians and Cubans as Cubans, IMHO.

Good for Mr. Garcia. I hope he saved up enough money to retire comfortably, as I don't think he'll be getting many more gigs...
What we need is a conservative run studio, not necessarily producing conservative works -- but producing entertaining flicks without any politics, and willing to hire actors who will speak out against the Hollywood establishment (and their new 'blacklist').

I know the story, and I'm salivating at the chance to tell it... That was a couple of years ago, at the Mausoleum to Che Guevara in Villa Clara, Cuba. I think Che Guevara was pulling his leg, trying to drag him to the tomb.
