One did. His name was Alan Keyes. He had the issues nailed 99% from a conservative perspective.

But we were told from the beginning "He can't win" by the folks who run the GOP. Unfortunately, most believed them.

Just don't be surprised when those kinds of arguments lose saliency and potency as time goes by...

When you settle for the lesser evil, you are not required to be happy. In fact, you are practically guaranteed not to be and that's why many of us won't settle the next time around.

Alan Keyes, a solid conservative did run. Unfortunately for everyone, he didn't get through the primary. Too many power hungry GOPers knew that he wouldn't play their game of expanding government power.
