Soon, it will be "GM/Ford," I predict. Or maybe "Ford/GM." Personally, I'd go with just "Ford." "General Motors" is too generic a name, void of personality.

I bought a Suburban in 2003 for $42,000. It is worth $15,000 or so today. The cost per mile to drive a GM product taking into account fuel, depreciation and maintenance is 2X what it costs to drive a Honda Pilot.

I'll not be buying anymore big iron from GM.

I prefer "United States Vehicles, Inc."

Seriously, Ford and GM should merge, get rid of unprofitable, musty brands such as Buick, and start completely from scratch. Move the headquarters out of Detroit. Get rid of the unions and middle-managers.

Actually, I think Chrysler is trying the hardest to change their products. At least they appear to be. But Alas, Honda still has them whipped and bad.

GM and Ford are working on their health care and retirement plans, products who needs products. Agree with the time warp bit, definitely stuck on stupid.
