Jimmy Carter: Punishing the innocent is a crime [Barfer]
International Herald Tribune ^ | MAY 7, 2006 | Jimmy Carter

ATLANTA Hamas and the Palestinians

Innocent Palestinian people are being treated like animals, with the presumption that they are guilty of some crime. Because they voted for candidates who are members of Hamas, the United States government has become the driving force behind an apparently effective scheme of depriving the general public of income, access to the outside world and the necessities of life.

Overwhelmingly, these are school teachers, nurses, social workers, police officers, farm families, shopkeepers, and their employees and families who are just hoping for a better life. Public opinion polls conducted after the January parliamentary election show that 80 percent of Palestinians still want a peace agreement with Israel based on the international road map premises. Although Fatah party members refused to join Hamas in a coalition government, nearly 70 percent of Palestinians continue to support Fatah's leader, Mahmoud Abbas, as their president.

It is almost a miracle that the Palestinians have been able to orchestrate three elections during the past 10 years, all of which have been honest, fair, strongly contested, without violence and with the results accepted by winners and losers. Among the 62 elections that have been monitored by us at the Carter Center, these are among the best in portraying the will of the people, without violence and with the results accepted by winners and losers. "who are just hoping for a better life."

Sure, that's why they elected Hamas and continue almost to the man to call for the annihilation of Jews. Carter is mentally deranged to be so completely wrong all the time.

Carter was responsible for me joint the Army - his inept handling of the Iranian Hostage Crises spurred me to join.

Then Reagon got elected, and they let everyone go right before he was sworn in.

And I went, "Oh, Cr@P - I am in the army!"

LOL

With American acquiescence, the Israelis had avoided any substantive peace talks for more than five years.

Jimmy need a summary of the last couple of years of "peace efforts".

Israel: We are destroying the lives and homes and property of Israeli Jews, we are digging up our dead, we give you a thriving agriculture business, go show the World what you can make of Gaza.

"Palestinians": "We will drink your Blood".

I can't figure it out, either. When I left Texas for Alabama, the very last thing I did on my way out of town was to stop by the polling place and vote against JC.

It hurt, too, as a Southerner and a Southern Baptist, but Jimmy wouldn't answer questions on the issues. when they don't answer the questions, you know what the answers are, and that you don't like them.

They lost their innocence when they voted for a terrorist political party. And, why does Jimmy feel that anyone owes these people an income? Just another socialist looking for ways to give your money away.

I have an excellent idea:

Lets load em all up and take them to jimmha's peanut farm and let him take care of them.....

might keep him busy enough he couldn't get anywhere to shot off his mouth, and keep him on our soil playing with his friends....

Sorry, Mr. ex-President Carter, but you talk out of both sides of your mouth on this topic. You say that 80% of the Palestinians want a peace deal with Israel and 70% still support Fatha in one paragraph, then brag in the next that the election a free and fair reflection of the people's will.

The people voted for Hamas, not Fatha!

Votes have consequences. There is still plenty of money in the U.S. and European aid pipelines for humanitarian assistance. Palestinians are not going to starve. But we have no obligation to pay the salaries and fund the operations of an unreformed and bellicose terrorist organization that they , THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE, freely and fairly decided to award the right to exercise sovereignty in their name.

Let's hope, Mr. President, since it is not the usual practice of Islamofascist or other totalitarian organizations to allow free and fair elections once in power, that the Palestinian people get another chance in the future for a true election so they can vote them out!

In the meantime, let them eat the bitter herbs of their own shortsightedness.

Hey Jimmy, let's watch the video of the Palistian celebrations in the street on 9/11,then you can explain your concept of innocence. The whole filthy diseased lot of them need to go.

9-11-2001

Palestinian response:

EX-president Carter (D) response:

Jimmy probably swallowed the jihadist lie that this was "old footage deliberately aired to make Palestinians look bad."

Letters to the Editor (Sept 27, 2001)
FR Thread from first anniversary memorial (and media coverage - Sept 12, 2002

Leftist Snopes' own report verifying the footage (Gotta love how they made a "double negative" - Palestinains DID cheer the attacks and denounced the footage as "old").

You forget the other "WEEEERRE DOOMED!" stories:

no conservatives are going to vote in November (no a single one)

Pelosi is going to impeach bush after all the republicans are voted out of office.

Democrats announced their Agenda for America. (your mommy state has a chore list for you)

and we only whisper the stock market record high and record unemployment.

Well, this is fairly hilarious...

"It is almost a miracle that the Palestinians have been able to orchestrate three elections during the past 10 years, all of which have been honest, fair, strongly contested, without violence and with the results accepted by winners and losers."

And then, in the news today: Hamas, Fatah gunmen clash; Three Palestinians killed in violence. Do you suppose Jimmeh ever gets tired of being wrong?
