1) These MAY . . . get it? MAY . . . polls are all over the map. Some of them represent primary mud-fests where Republicans are throwing slime at each other while Dems sit back and laugh.

2) I do know that Burns is not doing as well there as he should be, and perhaps he's dragging her down. Still, it's MAY.

3) It's Rasmussen. I think he was pretty good on the presidential level in 04, but I think his statewide polling was poor. Someone who knows better can correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually Burns is from Montana, not Wyoming.

I think she is so close because she promised to limit herself to six terms. She was elected in 1994. Therefore she is now running for her seventh term, breaking that pledge.

That may be why she's so close. Wyoming has always struck me as a "no-nonsense" type of state.
