Terror groups in league with gangs: top cop

OTTAWA — Canada's top cop says terrorist groups are joining forces with street gangs to raise cash for illicit activities.

RCMP Commissioner Guiliano Zaccardelli told a Senate defence committee Monday there is an "emerging trend" that some terror cells are financing their activies with the aid of organized crime groups. In past, the relationship fell under the Mounties' because it was confined to low-level crime.

“There clearly is more and more indication that some terrorist groups clearly are getting some of their finances by either directly supporting some criminal activity or indirectly being fed resources that are the product of illegal activity in in certain areas,” Zaccardelli said. “That is a trend that we’re watching and monitoring and has the potential to cause us some serious problems.”

The Commissioner said while Canada faces a growing problem with biker, Asian and traditional gangs, limited police resources mean the Mounties are only able to tackle about one-third of the activity.

Why is it that Big Media never mentions the ruthless MS13 Gang, where they're from and how they got here?

Gangs are urban terrorists I have always thought.
But weve tolerated them because generally they victimize each other and lets face it, kept the justice industry humming along. Now the game is changing for the worse.

It's a good thing this can't happen in the USA. Right?

Hmmm... I wonder if that's a new euphamism for saying terrorist groups are supplying DRUGS.

I think this is a worldwide trend. It's something people should be more aware of.
