Inland Valley Daily Bulletin of Ontario.................told by Mario Martinez (a Mexican)

Why tell a Canadian news paper this story?

Be careful what you believe folks.

The press is deliberately trying to fuel the "rage" of Conservatives against Republicans. We're going to be bombarded (spammed) as we get closer to the 2004 elections by stories that say "Get angry. Get very angry. Don't vote. Stay home. Teach those eeeeeevil Republicans a lesson. Do it for the sake of the children."
The angrier they can get right wingers, the better chance the left has to take over Washington, and that's what the press is working toward.

This story is about a Mexican talking to a liberal Canadian. Notice how no Americans are involved in any of it.

They told the canadian paper because they would print it. The papers in San Diego won't print anything like that story. If they do print it they will give is 200 words on page B-19.

I think thise is a reference to Ontario, California, not Ontario Canada. Canada is getting very strict with illegal immigrants and has beefed up deportations big time, just as Mexico is doing.

Unless you are referring to another person, your comment suggests that Mario Martinez is a Mexican. The article identifies Martinez as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman. It would stand to reason- though in this day and age, let's not take it for granted- that Martinez is a U.S. citizen.

On a related note, and perhaps more importantly- Apart from the notion that this "spam" was meant to inflict further damage on the GOP, are you concerned that it is true that the U.S. Border Patrol is collaborating with the Mexican government to assure the safe passage of illegal immigrants, at the potential peril of U.S. citizens?

Nope, no point. This is Ontario in California.

Of all the low down, sneaky, seditious things to do! What the h*&^ is wrong with our government? Mainly what's GWB thinking, other than that his favorite food is chili or tacos?
