Carlos Castro of Woodbridge, Va., said he does not support the planned May 19 "March on Washington" because, he says, such protests are not helping the immigrant community. "It's putting undue pressure on our legislators and I think it's going to work the opposite way," said Mr. Castro, 51, a prominent business owner who came to the United States in 1980 from El Salvador. "Instead of sympathy and help, we're going to start creating some antagonism and friction that is unnecessary at this time."

Sounds like reparations will be demanded once they get their amnesty.

Mr. Cortez if we're so freaking bad please get your no-doubt illegal ass back across the freaking border. I'm sure you won't be abused in Mexico or Guatemala or Honduras or wherever it was you snuck in from.

Sounds like there's at least one "castro" that gets it.
Too late, sucker!
You and all your buddies are going to find out why they warn you not to bite the hand that feeds you!
May 19? That's the day I have scheduled for the tree removers. I hope none of their employees call in sick.
Too late, Carlos. The toothpaste is out of the tube, as far as I'm concerned.
Why are baby-killing communists labeled as "democrats"?
Again, it's ILLEGAL immigrants that are the problem. No one has a problem if you're here legally!
"Instead of sympathy and help, we're going to start creating some antagonism and friction that is unnecessary at this time."
He's got that right...
Heck, they are ALREADY benefitting from affirmative action.
"Why are baby-killing communists labeled as "democrats"?"
For the same reason that illegal-pandering Democrats and illegal-pandering Republicans pretend to disagree with one another.
Not from this corner. My wife is a first generation immigrant.
yes , and just how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? the world may never know. :)
Legal I bet.
The problem with any reparations analysis is that the advocates calculate with glee the negatives, but don't factor in the positives when calculating 'damages,' which the reparations presumably would be paying off.
In the case of reparations for slavery, I have never heard an advocate for reparations factor in, as strange as it sounds, the benefits of the experience of the culture in the USA.
So after calculating all the harm, it's only fair to calculate all the benefits - longer, healthier lives (as compared to being born in Africa), higher income (buttressed by higher expenses, of course), etc.
It wouldn't surprise me that if a calculation were sincerely done, a lot of folks claiming reparations might find it hard to swallow that, in the end, they might owe the USA money.
And once again the MSM is mischaracterizing it.
These marches have nothing to do with immegrants. It's about ILLEGAL ALIENS!
It's about people who broke the law to come here. They need to get that straight...but they wont.
Immigration March Was A Success
Tis an "Urban Legend", but still has a point.
Immigration March Was A Success!
I thought you'd be interested in some facts I received.
It appears that the Immigration March last Monday in Los Angeles was a success! According to data from the Los Angeles County Sheriff, Los Angeles had a reduction in the following:
82% reduction - auto theft
28% " " - murders/ violent crimes/ rapes
73% " " - vandalism / tagging
54% " " - drug related offenses (not including the area surrounding the march)
31% " " - domestic violence cases
64% " " - misdemeanor cases (shop lifting, etc.)
The California Highway Patrol reported that last Monday was a record low in the least amount of traffic accidents on South CA freeways.
Looks like the immigration rally was well worth it. Maybe we can do this one again sometime.
Sure saves the State of California a chunk of money!
Take care.
Because the word backlash makes one sound like a victim.

Actually, most Americans appear to be quite able to tell the difference (except for reporters, politicians and some Freepers). I am amazed that there doesn't seem to be much animosity at all toward hispanics in general even among people who are livid over the illegal alien problem.
