Someone who attended the same high school I did (Crafton HS near Pittsburgh PA) posted this to our reunion group on Yahoo. (We also have a couple of websites where I assume this will also be posted... www.craftonreunion.org

and Crafton, The Village (Works best with IE at 800x600. May not display properly in all browsers at different settings. I'll update it as soon as I can, but at last count I had over 40 pages.)

The author also has a website here

The story was so touching and so well written I wanted to share it here. Hope you likey.

Well done Chuck! Thank you and Charlie, as well as all our troops past and present, for you service. God Bless you.

Thank you for this touching story! My father grew up on Long Island, NY. He was in the field artillery during WWII, European theater. He was a POW for a while also. After the war, he used the GI Bill to get an education and became an engineer working on the space program, helping to put a man on the moon and bring him back home safely. He is 81 years old. I am proud of him and I am proud of the others who defended our country in some of its darkest hours.

A veteran of 20 years on active duty, USAF
(With gratitude to President Ronald Reagan, who gave me the privilege of wearing my country's uniform)

Thats an amazing and very touching story.

Thank you for posting it, sir.

My grandfather was a lieutenant in the British Indian army in Burma. The Japanese gave them a tough time there...
