Thank you pointing all those things out to counter act the liberal arguements on this thread against the governor. Most of the petty items that these so called "conservatives" are pointing out on this thread are not controlled by the governor.
"It has been like this for over 50 years and the Governor can not stop it as long as the Republican controlled legislature cuts his throat at every corner."

May I remind everyone that most of the "republicans" in the legislature are guys that changed parties during the Campbell and Beasley admins. Most are RINOs and are undermining most of Sanford's agenda.
People can call the governor any names that they want but don't argue points unless you know what you are talking about.

Bottom line is this.

That you prefer a Republican to a Conservative.

You've made it very clear where you stand - to the left of Sanford.

Liberals favor government action to promote equality, whereas conservatives favor government action to promote order. Libertarians favor freedom and oppose government action to promote either equality or order.

To be honest, my personal HO is that the above definition stinks. My definition of conservative is one who believes that the founding fathers had it completely right regarding a representative republic and the role of government. If that makes me a "libertarian," the so be it, although I will never cast a vote for a national Libertarian candidate.

For me that is education, police and economic development.

For me it is economic development and law enforcement. I've no interest in what the state has to offer with regards to education...as we have proven time and again that it is a colossal waste of taxpayer money. The system is broken, but private companies are doing an excellent job with less money.

That's the beauty of capitalism. Where there is a need there will be someone willing to fill it. Competition will encourage high quality. Gov. Sanford shows the courage of his convictions by supporting school choice.

Sanford has been promoting PPIC, Put Parents in Charge legislation much to the dismay of the education establishment types. It would basically give mobility for parents to move their kids out of failing schools and moves the state toward vouchers. His own GOP controlled legislature wont pass the laws to make it happen. They override nearly all of his vetoes with the help of the democrats. The legislature is a complete disgrace. They only want to find ways to spend more tax money, give more money to public schools, and have been working for 2 years on tax reform and cannot pull a solution together. The state lottery has brought in a billion dollars for public education and the educrats continue to carp about needing more money. If you drive around the state, you would think our growth industry is school construction.

I'm a South Carolinian and a strong Conservative and I fully support Mark Sanford for governor.

Overall, I like what he's done.

IMO, Sanford is actually a man of principles that he DOES hold dearly and clearly, his leadership is exactly what our political system needs now, much more than weasel words and crappers like Lindsey Graham. The SC Legislature is on par with the Louisiana french system...they know that in his 2nd term, Sanford will be their worst nightmare...it will be fun to see....go Mark go...never give an inch to these RINO's, lefty fools and the rest of that RICo racket in Columbia, hang 'em high!
