Sanford has some big cahones. In an election year he essentially wrote off one of the wealthiest GOP run counties by vetoing a bill that was approved by the state legislature that essentially granted that county hospital a heart center that had been previously disapproved by the Department of Health and Environmental Control which evaluates Certificates of Need based upon community needs, resources, etc. This was an act of political courage.
